Met Symir's family at the game. His little brother is taller than me and I'm 5'9".  They all drove down from Syracuse.

With Greg out hope he sees more minutes. Thought he played well today.

Aren't most people taller than you?  Not trying to be mean, but seems like an odd thing to say.

Needs to play more amd ride through his inexperience and mistakes. He looks like he can pass, has a strong handle, and step up and knock down open looks.  WTH do they have to lose by playing him more considering lack of production and mistakes everyone else is making out there

He got beat on defense on about 5 consecutive possesions

It won’t get much better sitting on the bench. Look at how lost Cain looks after the quick hooks he went through last year.

Not to mention the major issue of our defense IMO is our rotations and help side defense are near nonexistent!

Exactly, we’ll never see if he can improve sitting on the bench. We know the other guys are showing zero ability to improve

Our defense was perfectly fine in the 2nd half.  The problem is they couldn’t make  many of the open looks they got.

It was far from “perfectly fine”

Symir looked like a frost on both ends of the floor today.
He’ll be OK.

Hall had a sub-40 eFG% if memory serves, and held them to 29. The defense was fine.

MU couldn't throw it in the ocean.

Koby. Sacar. Brendan. Greg. Theo maybe but not sure he's an above average 1 on 1 defender. We're top 50 in adjusted defense.

Worst in conference play at defending 2pt field goals.

Kind of a dumb comment. I don't think it's that hard to understand. Little brother. What if his little brother is like 12 years old? That's a fairly tall kid.

In a 4 game sample, yes

For a freshman, played well.  A couple of bad turnovers, the defense isn’t there, but made a three pointer and a good passer.  Will be good in the long run.

Better question is how old the little brother is.  Symir should be a senior in HS.  Is his brother 15?  5'9" is pretty decent height for most fr/so, although not really sure how it's relevant anyways.

Avg height is 5’ 10”.  I suspect his age is the reason why he said it.

I would give him a ton of minutes. We already know who can’t play on this team, it is time to find out who can play. For those of you that were waiting for GE to have a breakout year and Cain to replace Joey, are you still feeling it?

I would play Symir as many minutes as possible. To me, he has the look of a basketball player and has upside to his game.

Agree with this and I think he has the most potential out of any player on the team. Wojo is so quick to shackle him to the bench for a few blown assignments on defense. If he was given more opportunity to play through them, I think we’d see improvement quickly in that area.

Additionally, the offense would not only be a lot better this year with Symir getting the bulk of the minutes at the point, they would also be able to hit the ground running more next year with the new recruits.

Not sure why Wojo has always had a thing for playing non-true point guards at the point.
