Milwaukee Restaurant for Company Holiday Party
« on: October 14, 2012, 05:25:11 PM »
Inspired by another steakhouse thread, I was curious the collective's thoughts on a place for an office party. We usually have 15-20 people and generally like to get our own room, but not necessary. Doesn't have to be a high brow place, but better than typical pub fare.

In the past we've done:

Chophouse
Dream Dance
Sabor (RIP)
Carnevor

Everyone goes out afterwards so being close to bars is nice.

Any recommendations?

Just had to throw that in there and get me all excited didn't you?

It's been hard for everyone wades. Especially when they started serving chicken and waffles.

We've done Water Buffalo and it worked out really well. You can rent out the bottom floor.

We've also done the Milwaukee Ale House, I think Water Buffalo was the better option though.

Went to a party last year in the lower level of Roots. It was very nice.

They are reopening at the end of the month under a new owner and name, but I'm sure they'll still do rentals.

Most tittie clubs have private rooms and lots of holiday spirit.   Chicks get in free too.

Not sure how you could ever follow up on Carnevor but...

Rustico on Water, near Ale House but don't hold that against it.  Great lower room that even in winter is nice (smokers have easy access to river walk).  Same owners as Zarletti so you know the food will be great but it's more affordable.

Bumping this thread again, we've gone to Hinterland two years straight now. Need a new place.

Group is usually under 20 people, and we usually go late in January.

Does it have to be downtown?  If not, do yourself a favor and get some Jake's Burgers.

Yeah, for hotel purposes.

I'm going to suggest Water Buffalo again, just as I did in 2012. Had another event there last month, you can rent the entire downstairs complete with a private bar.

I've also heard good things about the Rumpus Room. I haven't been there, but it's hard to go wrong with a Bartolotta restaurant.

I'm pushing hard at Water Buffalo.

I will say Hinterland was amazing, but we needed to try something new.

Onesto in the Third Ward has a private room. Run by the same group as Water Buffalo. Haven't been yet, but have heard good things about the food.
