Foreign Tour for team this year?
« on: April 02, 2019, 03:21:01 PM »
You’re allowed every 4 years to go on a foreign tour trip. Our last trip was to Italy in 2015; anyone heard anything about a trip this year?

If I'm the coach, I'm saving it for next year as just another selling point for some of the big fish recruits they're after.

I was just wondering if this is something coaches do

Can't hurt. And it doesn't make a ton of sense to do it this year with a roster that has been together for a while.

Made sense when Ellenson and the gang were incoming freshmen because there was some serious team-building to be done. We'll be going through a similar transition in 2020 after losing a lot of senior production.

At least 2-3 of our players will likely be going to Peru for the Pan Am Games. Big East will represent the USA.

O'Neill and the team took a trip to Russia before the start of the 1992-93 season. That was the first time Mac, Key, Miller and Logterman made the NCAA tournament -- but a year before the Sweet 16. IIRC, the refs called one of the games early because of a fight that broke out.

Leave it to Indiana to have Gary as your "Welcome to Indiana!" welcome sign.

Illinois has East St. Louis as its welcome sign from the West....

Well per the other thread, Christ is going to be our next coach, so surely the next trip would be to the Holy Land.

Makes sense with the new coach we'll have and all the roster turnover that comes with it.  Maybe even see if they can pick up a few foreign players to bring back home and fill the 6 open scholarships we'll have.

A few weeks ago I'm driving from Milwaukee to Indy and decided to take the Skyway.  At the end of the road where I usually take the spur to I 65 the road was closed.  The detour was through downtown Gary, very scary and I grew up in Detroit in the 70's and I thought that was about the worst experience ever. I took 294 home :).

When I would go to national training with Ernst and Young, we would often have a "who had the worst client"  debate.  I had Gary Indiana Sewage District.  I won every time.
Have some patience, FFS.

When I drive from Jersey to PA; on the PA side there is a sign that says "America Starts Here".

One car’s welcome sign is another car’s “thank God we’re almost out of Indiana.”
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Well, Wojo mentioned it on the Inside Marquette program, on Wedneday night.  Your insider is kind of late to the game.

It's not even a Foreigner tour without Lou Gramm on vocals.
