exactly my feelings all along-glad to know i'm not totally.......crazy
Always go with your own beliefs. Don't let peer pressure or bullying influencing your thought process. Dayton considers Kostas one of their most exciting recruits of the Archie Miller era. http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/sports/college-basketball/kostas-antetokounmpo-picked-dayton-flyers-three-da/nrm8G/
TAMUI do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.
That has everything to do with his 247 ranking and nothing to do with his talent.
Archie Miller coaching record:2011-12 Dayton 20–13 9–7 5th NIT First Round2012–13 Dayton 17–14 7–9 11th 2013–14 Dayton 26–11 10–6 T–5th NCAA Elite Eight2014–15 Dayton 27–9 13–5 T–2nd CAA 322015–16 Dayton 25–8 14–4 T–1st NCAA Round of 64Dayton: 115–55 (.676) 53–31 (.631) Total: 115–55 (.676) I think Archie is a pretty good judge of talent.
It's late March and he had two open schollies. He took a flyer on kid with a famous last name. Maybe it will work out, maybe it won't. From what I've heard, I'm not convinced he will actually make it to campus. Also, I read the article you posted, it said nothing about Kostas being one of his most exciting recruits. It said he was one of the highest rated. Which again goes back to the last name.
Other commentary on Kostas http://www.deepishthoughts.com/kostas-antetokounmpo-will-enroll-dayton/Mr. Wilson, who does this for a living, seems to think he has pretty good talent.
You're telling me an aau coach hyped up a kid on his team? Really? If he didn't have a famous last name no one would have any idea who he was. He didn't even start for his WIAA D4 team until this year despite having a foot on almost everyone else. Without his brother he'd be a mid major prospect at best, more likely a low major
Mr. Wilson has zero incentive to over hype a kid. He is running a successful business and his stock in trade is giving honest assessments . I trust Mr. Wilson's judgement. Florida , which the last time I looked, is a pretty good program, also offered Kostas. The "Kostas has no talent" argument has been decided in the favor of " he has talent". You seem to know a lot about recruiting. The very first thing all coaches look at in every sport is the athletes blood lines. Every college sports questionnaire a kids fill out has a spot for siblings. The fact that his two older brothers are complete studs is only a positive. There is zero negative in that. Do You think it hurt Wes Matthews that his dad was Wes Matthews and his mom was an incredible track athlete?I am sure Arizona was delighted that Luke Waltons dad was Bill Walton. In all likelihood we are going to offer Zaire Wade. Is that a bad thing?
Wait, I think I figured it out. Marquette Fan in NY is actually UDPride. This was all just a really long con set up to make Marquette fans look like terrible people to the Kostas camp so Dayton could get him all to themselves. Damn you UDPride.
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
Some of the sentiment on the Dayton Board. They are obviously very excited about Kostas......UDBrian UDBrian is offlineGeneral of the Air Force Join Date: Aug 2001Location: Wilmington, ohPosts: 8,615Thanks: 1,693Thanked 2,269 Times in 1,275 PostsUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeUDBrian has a reputation beyond reputeOriginally Posted by sabo2 View PostI don't care what position he plays, I saw a player with NBA potential. Care to share what Fordham fans are saying about their 3rd best recruit as well or...?
Fordham did recruit Kostas. Dayton did. Dayton is celebrating. I believe this will go down as one of the big missed opportunities of the Wojo era.
