Storm is coming.
Destroy them

Storm is coming.
Destroy them
Crappy storm, not real.
-
On pace to get blocked about 100 times today. And weak trying to grab the loose balls after the fact.
Moving the ball decently other than that
-
Lol how in the world is that SJU ball. The shot misses, clearly not blocked and no MU player went near it
-
Offense getting in a rhythm now
-
Offense getting in a rhythm now
Had about 5 straight great possessions until that Lewis force.
-
Had about 5 straight great possessions until that Lewis force.
Lewis chucking early shot clock 3s is never how we want it.
Wasnt even a catch and shoot
-
11 called fouls in less than 10 min ! ! ! ridiculous ! ! ! 8-)
-
That bounce pass by Greg was bad. Cant give them free transition points.
Great answer from deep by Greg
-
garseeah!
-
Great D by Sy!!
-
Koby actually ran the baseline two separate times after turnovers. Didn't get called the first time.
-
Lots of fouls.
Gotta grab boards. Giving a offensively challenged team extra chances isn't good
-
Failure to get loose balls is only reason we are not up about 15 right now.
Given them 6 pts the last 2 trips
-
GRAB THE FU CKING BALL.
Right now we are basically banking on SJU knocking a rebound out of bounds to get the ball back.
-
Overall we are playing well but poor rebounding, or getting any loose balls and Justin Lewis on defense.
-
2 fouls on Champaigne is nice.
-
The rebounding will be a little worse when playing zone, but yeah there's a middle ground between that and this.
-
Greg just misses a transition 3 which would put it to 11. They hit one immediately on other end. That was unfortunate.
Theo gotta take his time in the post he had positioning.
Offense getting a lot of good looks.
-
This game is absolutely why our defense frustrates me. Not just allowing unguarded threes, but giving a shooter 2-3 seconds without even token defense to prepare the shot. SJU is at least 5/7 on unguarded spot up threes by my count.
-
My god
Call a TO for DJ to throw ball away. Give Justin a second foul.
Luckily guy only made 1/2
-
Pretty impressive since the box has them with only 4 made threes.
-
Greg!!!
-
Greg made up for whatever Woj told them in the time out.
-
Efficient 3 point shooting, when, how, whom. Greg of course is by far their best shooter.
Strong points in the paint. Some nice high lows, with Garcia and Lois, as well as some Carton drives for MU.
Need to work on reducing 2nd chance points, grabbing the ball, as St. John's continues to miss many jumpers. MU Having a few of their own helped offset this a bit.
Need to be strong on the ball in 2nd half, defend, continue good spacing and making the extra pass moving the ball with pace.

Brew, I love you, brother, but you aren't watching this game.

The rebounding/loose balls has been brutal. But I think the initial defense has been really solid. We forcing a bad jump shooting team into taking jumpers.
-
Brew, I love you, brother, but you aren't watching this game.
Not doing great on the glass and allowing kick outs for open threes. Either way, maddening.
-
Not securing rebounds. Not lack of effort or poor scheme.
-
Full slop on offense again.
Stop committing offensive fouls
-
Greg having a great game.
Jamal very active in the second half making up for his non existent first half.
-
Take that back about Greg.
IN BOUND THE DAMN BALL.
Just handing them pts. 5-0 run and they get a 3rd straight possession. Thats impressively bad.
-
Greg was having a great game until he started taking the ball out after made baskets.
-
Greg giveth, Greg taketh away.
-
It's like the Johnnies heard the announcer's adjustments. Got punched in the mouth. Let's see how the boys respond.
-
Wojo seems to have no sense as to the flow of the game.
-
Wojo seems to have no sense as to the flow of the game.
Not exactly Wojo's fault that Greg didnt in bound the ball.
And that seemingly every time we block a johnnies shot it goes right to another johnny. And when they stuff us, its possession over.
Wojo doesnt have a magic wand.
-
DJ can get up
-
Didn’t know DJ could fly like that...
Holy crap.
-
Carton wit da quickness and hops, aina?
-
St. John's made the half time adjustment to attack MU's guards off of the bounce. Need to stay in front of your man. There's been some rim protection help a little bit but it's been successful. MU switches to zone and is late on corner 3 close out.
A few ill advised offensive fouls and unforced errors. McEwen will sit a while and is close to having at least 4 fouls in 8 of 14 games.
A few St. John's d lapses for easy MU buckets.

Theo is also sitting with 3. Jamal as 3 as well.
We gotta draw some fouls on them this half.
-
wondering when wed see some jams from dj. his hs mix tape has plenty of atheltic dunks
-
Champagnie kills us now and everything is out of control.
-
CAIN. SHOULD. NEVER. DRIBBLE.
-
Soft call on Justin there.
-
3 on Lewis now.
We got 4 fouls this half they have 0.
7th TO. And CHampagnie drills another.
This is a complete meltdown
-
Is Woj just gonna stand 'round and hold his johnson, hey?
-
omfg
-
jesus.. that lead was gone in a blink
-
Well this is fully on MU but there is zero chance SJU hasnt committed a foul this half.
-
100% because of turnovers
-
Theo is also sitting with 3. Jamal as 3 as well.
We gotta draw some fouls on them this half.
He didn't sit too long, and after watching Cain and Sy try to break the press, he checks back in.
Carton getting his pocket picked a few times this half too. MU has 8 turnovers in the first six minutes of 2nd half.
Cain has been late on close outs multiple times in the 2nd half.
-
LMAO this is might be the most embarrassing one yet.
Just handing them the ball and letting their best player kill us.
This team is incapable of going a game without giving up a massive run. We simply have to hope that SJU like Providence made it too early and don't sustain it like Uconn
-
Is Woj just gonna stand 'round and hold his johnson, hey?
That is what Wojo does best.
Wojo=el chokeoh
-
WHO COULD HAVE FORESEEN THAT THEY WOULD USE PRESSURE TO TRY TO TURN US OVER!?!?!
-
Like I said,
Every time they block our shot, possesion over. We block them??? Someone else gets the ball and scores.
-

Give Wojo da heave ho, aina?
-
WHO COULD HAVE FORESEEN THAT THEY WOULD USE PRESSURE TO TRY TO TURN US OVER!?!?!
Only 5 TOs so far against press ::)
-
WHO COULD HAVE FORESEEN THAT THEY WOULD USE PRESSURE TO TRY TO TURN US OVER!?!?!
The press break strategy has been fine after the first five minutes. Our guys need to settle the fvck down.
-
They have 3 guys that can play,Lewis,Garcia, and Carton.I will give Oso the benefit of red shirting. The rest can go!
-
Feed Theo. I like that.
The guy averaged 2.4 ppg in three years and now he is being an offensive focal point when you need a bucket. Brilliant!
-
Maebea day should pop sum Valium, hey?
-
Sigh
-
Seen this movie. Every game, same thing for this squad. Frustrating because the talent and makings of a more consistent team is there.
-

Theo has never had even 1 season average 2.4 ppg.
-
6
-
Our offense is absolutely terrible now. No rhythm. Basically have to pray we get fouled.
-
7
-
Wee due a grate job of hand slappin', doe, hey?
-
Theo shoulda kicked to DJ. But drawing a foul on Champagnie isnt bad.
-
Theo has never had even 1 season average 2.4 ppg.
4.8 ppg career before this year. My bad.
-
4.8 ppg career before this year. My bad.
Im seeing 5.2 ppg for his career.
With 7.7 this year.
-
As TAMU noted, we do not match up well with these guys. Right in it with 8:00 to go. Nothing unexpected here (as infuriating as it can be watching this).
-
4 on Koby
-
that waS A WEAK CALL ON KOBY, for #4 ! ! !
-
Wish Dawson was used more in the press break.
-
Jesus lose another loose ball and leads to 4 on Cain and them shooting 1 and 1.
-
Theo has been a beast in this half
-
Up 5 with the ball
2 possesions later up 1 with 2 more fouls picked up.
Another SJU block leads right into their offense
-
Lewis and Garcia keep getting stripped on O rebounds.
-
What was elliot doing on that breakaway
-
Theo has been a beast in this half
Yep. For a man of his size to play these kind of minutes, at this pace, and have the entire defensive scheme funnel into him - its not possible to ask any more of him.
-
Greg just wasted 15 seconds to tie his shoe
-
Here we go. Wojo with a key time out to draw up a play to bust Johnnie's balls.
-
18 turnovers plus 8 SJU blocks, plus Cain missing everything, recipe for disaster.
Need to get Koby back in, Elliott out. Then pass inside to Garcia and Theo.
-
Cain and Carton are really struggling defensively.
-
Der gonna play angry, hey?
-
Lewis and Garcia keep getting stripped on O rebounds.
How the hell does he get his shots blocked. He ia a 7 footer.

-
Greg just wasted 15 seconds to tie his shoe
They stopped the clock for him.
-
Was Koby smiling?
-
Sheesh Jamal.
It counts though.
Champagnie just killing us
-
Shame dat wona deez teems has gotta lose, aina?
-
not buyin the goofy match up excuse if they blow this one. i mean get outta here. u cant blow double digit 2nd half leads againat bottom big east teams if you wanna gp anywhere
-
With 2:30 to play our starting guards have 2 assists and 6 turnovers.
-
Koby= brain fart
-
LOL another block by us where we dont get the ball.
-
The challenge with Marquette is that if healthy (he isn't), Greg would possibly be their best non Freshman player. Too many of MU's returning players are inconsistent with their levels of play, game to game, and within the game.
For me it always comes back to, and starts with guard play. 1,2,3, and depth there as well. MU struggling at those positions has taken thr front court players out of the game a lot in the 2nd half.
-
18 turnovers a lot? Asking for a friend.
-
Posh earnin' his 'ship, hey!
-
A big stripped again. Unreal
-
Koby!!
-
Tyme ta strap it on, hey?
-
Theo was taking a long time there. Thank Champagnie for poor shot selection on the other end.
-
Survived.
Awful possesion by SJU
Great D
-
Not pretty, but left-hand column.
-
Whew. Take the win and head home.
-
omg if that went in..

-
Not pretty, but a necessary win. Lots of issues that reinforce what's already wrong with this team, but they can't afford to lose to teams outside the field, so this is good. Survived nuclear Champagnie, all you can ask for.
-
Good win. Maebea, day'll turn da korner🤞🏻, hey?
-
Huge block by Theo at 2 seconds. STOG
-
Two wins in a row...anybody heard from 5DollarBitcher?

Sorry. Autocorrect.
-
Cain and Carton are really struggling defensively.
Carton goes 1 on 3 makes a tough shot after fake screen hand off. Then he flexes towards the MU bench while his man (Alexander) beats him down the floor on thr cut to basket for lay up.
-

Totally agree. That felt like the most stressful game of the season, at least that’s how it feels right now.
-

Well...at least that's a correctable problem!

That, and some occasional heat checks, but he'll work through that as he gets more games under his belt IMO
-
We’re about 500 in the wojo era against that program, but I always feel we match up poorly against them. Despite playing into their style, it’s nice to see them pull out the win.
-
Theo is man
Thought he had a great game and particularly about a five minute stretch late in the second half. Growth in so many areas over the 4 years. Love to see it.
-

He has trouble staying in front of his man on defense. He clearly can make the offense go. And, he makes things happen, as he did today. But he is at times a sloppy player. A very good player, but has moments as he had breaking the press with too much dribble in 2nd half etc...
The challenge is who else do you have, Sy.(he really struggled blocking out on the boards at times) .and foul trouble McEwen etc....McEwen made a great play left dribble drive overpowering Alexander, and using his body on the left hand lay up on the game winner. The question was the handle. Would he ve able to keep the handle. He did.
-
Thank God! A loss would prob have been a season-ended for the dance.
-

You mean Karen?

Perhaps he is not yet ready for NBA.
-
Perhaps he is not yet ready for NBA.
He isn’t. But he’s damn good still. We lose for sure today without him.
-
If he stays through his senior year, I can see him ending up like Brunson. Completely controlling the ball and the offense. Right now, he has played 34 college games. Pretty good. Not NBA ready yet.

thats pretty damn bold. brunson was NPOY his jr season. would massive improvement for carton next year.

Free year, hey

Probably not that good. But the kind of PG you want. One who controls the game, can get his when it is called for. One all of the other teams have to plan for.
Today, the difference between when he was on the floor and when he sat was stark. That is a sign of a good starting PG.
