  • I prefer a team that's eligible, not paid for

"even backup center Davante Gardner has shown some ability to score around the basket."

Wow, ya really think so?  This just in, sometime after three o'clock this afternoon, the sun will set.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Coach Buzz Williams said that the team did not run many plays against Norfolk State.

“We ran three plays out of 80-some possessions,” he said. “Is that the right way to do it? It’s probably not the right way to do it during the first semester but I believe it’s the right way to do it to play past spring break because we’re teaching them how to play, not (teaching them) a play.”

I've heard Buzz talk about this thought process many times, and it continues to impress me.  I was consistently amazed at TC's ability to have his teams ready for the start of the season with the number of sets they ran.  That was his style, and he was good at quick implementation.  Buzz is completely different from that, and it's really enjoyable to watch the players and team grow throughout the year.

I think it is pretty clear that the two scrimmages really has this team prepared to play all out.  They are hungry and gifted.  The VI will be a solid test...but we may not know how good this team really is until they go into the Kohl Hole....and then turn around come right back at Washington in The Valvano.
