Go Home St. John's
« on: March 14, 2019, 09:34:41 PM »
Have disliked this program ever since we joined the Big East.  Nice to blow them out of the freaking water with their NCAA Tournament lives hanging in the balance.  Maybe they'll play another game in the Garden in a few weeks.

Let's put in the same effort tomorrow night in another road game.

Been calling it the exorcism tour. Let's do this.

If it was easy, Dayton would do it.  It's Friday night in the Garden, gonna be fun.

We just lost to them a week ago with more fans than they'll have tomorrow when MU hit a Siberian ice wall in the last 4:40 after dominating all game. Powell is the difference.

I don’t want Howard to think he has to match Powell point for point, as that is going to be a bad outcome I should think.

I think Howard didn't feel that way against Ponds today. Nor will he feel it with Powell. He really distributed in an above average manner. Marquette is a much better team when that happens.

We get it. You think Howard hurts this team. You’re the only person in the world who could ever come up with that, but you’ve made it perfectly clear.

Nope, then you clearly don't get it.  I've been clear we are better WITH him on the court then without.  Some have accurately said you have to deal with good Markus and bad Markus, and fortunately it is usually not bad Markus.  However, the areas where I see him usually regressing is when he gets beat on defense, he goes into makeup mode....not good.  Or, at times, trying to match someone.

But no, if you are making that comment, you don't get it.  The guy is a stud, a great scorer....I just watched game as I could not watch most of it live do to family situation, but him looking for teammates was great tonight.  That opens up so much for others and him, when he does that.

Agree. We are much better when Markus focuses on getting his teammates involved, and then just scores in the flow of the game.

When he forces it, the others tend to stand around watching....

The sore losers turned the escalators off at the end of the game.

And “Mullen Mayhem” is at it again on the HolyLand site, calling us a “classless” program for gunning late ‘3’s while up 30 under the 3 minute mark.

He said that in their drubbing of DePaul they exuded class by running out the clock several times.

We barely beat them at our place, and lost last week at theirs.  Tough matchup for us in my opinion.

They packed the house tonight. The energy in the first half of their game was much different than the SJU fans in our game. We'll have to bring it tomorrow to knock them off.

Meh.  Wojo pulled his starters with 4-5 minutes to go.  Subs gotta shoot.   Sour grapes.

A turnover (or missed shot) hurts our offensive efficiency, and thus hurts our NET ranking.

Why do they do this!?! I've literally thought about this at least once a month for the last six years.

And don't get me started about the poor sportsmanship exhibited by the SJU participants in the musical chairs competition.  ;)
