I really wanna see Stalberg back in the lineup. Put Stalberg with Bolland and Bickell. Move Shaw up to center with kane and Sharp and scratch Handzus. He has done nothing but hurt the Hawks this postseason.

Sort of. We have a hot goalie and a talented, but inconsistent team. Did you see game one? That defense was horrible, especially Brendan Smith. Howard didn't have a chance on two of those goals because his defense completely failed him. If they play like that the rest of the way, they'll lose in 5.

Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying the ride. It's often more fun to be a fan when you have little to no expectations. I was just happy to see them keep the consecutive playoff appearance streak alive.

You also came off an exhausting series against my Ducks that went 7 games, four of them in Overtime.  Back and forth travel across 3 time zones in that short of a time period can get a team exhausted.  I expected you to lay an egg in game 1, which you did.  Yesterday you played much more like you did against us.  I expect a solid series.  Chicago probably wins, but I still think you were the most dangerous team coming into the playoffs and nothing has changed that.  You had elimination games the last 2 weeks of the season just to get in.  Very similar to the Kings last year.

Ugh, doesn't anyone watch Eastern Conference hockey, this left coast talk is making my ears bleed.

Bruins coming out strong against the Rangers, starting 3 rookie defensemen b/c of injuries.  Looks like the Sens are trying to making a series out of it too.

Stupid bruins would be home if the leafs hadn't pissed the bed.

Pens let one get away with lazy D in the last min.

If it happens pit-bos will be a good series.

During last night's game I flashed back about 20 years to when Eddie the Eagle was infuriating Red Wings fans in the playoffs.    Detroit would outplay the Blackhawks in every way imaginable and lose 2-1 because Belfour (sp?) would make 48 saves.    Drove me nuts.   I saw it from the other angle last night.  Chicago is so fast.

Like I said three weeks ago...you don't want to play Detroit.

This is effin pissing me off. I hate Detroit so much. Slacking the entire season and pull this out of nowhere. Pisses me off. Need to have a run like they did against Vancouver 2 years ago winning 3 in a row.

It wasn't slacking per se.   It was injuries and young defensemen finding their way.  It's not over.   One soft goal and the whole house of cards crumbles.

The only thing better than the Wings winning this series is that they'd be eliminating the Blackhawks.

Hawks have hit the post 2 to 3 times per game, cannot score on the power play and have been out-played by just enough.  Detroit is skilled and tough and exceptionally well coached, and Howard is (too say the least) playing solid goal.  Killing me.

Outside of the Hawks powerplay, they haven't been playing all that bad this series.  Detroit has found a way to shut down anything they're doing on offense and Howard has been outstanding.  2 out of the last 3 are at the UC so I don't think the series is completely over, but this just shows how hard it is to win the cup in the NHL.

Hardly slacking, they were young had injuries, etc.  Their playoffs started a few weeks before the real playoffs started just to get into the playoffs.  My Ducks had them a few times but couldn't put them away.  I knew they were the most dangerous team.  Hawks can still win this thing, no doubt, but I think this only justifies what I said prior to the end of the season (despite Lenny's mockery)....Detroit was the one team you didn't want to play.

Here on the coast, I went to last night's Kings game...they are playing so well at home, but crap on the road.  Still the champs, so they aren't going down easily.

This series comes down to tonight IMO.

Tonight comes down to Detroit's defense IMO. Howard is playing great, but the defense doesn't give him a chance at times.

Should be a crazy atmosphere in Hockeytown with plenty of eight legged mollusks flying around.

Don't blame us, blame the NHL's problem with geography. Midwestern teams in the Western Conference, most people on this board from the mid-west, most people on this board talking about Western Conference teams.

And there is also Chicos, who may just be one man, but posts as much as three.

Game stolen from the Hawks once - hard to win a game like this twice.

Honestly, I am not sure I have ever heard a crowd like that after that overtime goal.
