Students in Line at 7:20 a.m.
« on: February 25, 2009, 08:14:33 AM »
Driving to my parking structure for work, I go right past the BC. At 7:20 a.m. there were 20-25 students in line. They looked like they were ready for a long, exciting day.

Trust me when I say if robmufan graduated, you can skip class to get into line.

This reminds me of a Sunday morning in 1986 when the Warriors played N.C. and almost pulled off the upset at the Mecca.   I will never forget that day and no classes should interefere with the opportunity students have over the next few weeks -- it is much more valuable to carry this experience with you into the future!

I had to make up classes and tests that went on during the 2003 Final Four when I was in New Orleans.

I would love to skip work, unfortunately, the IRS denied my petition to move the Tax Deadlines back one day...  >:(

My only regret of going into Tax Accounting is I wont be able to travel to Big East games due to busy season. Wish I did more of that in college!

A lot of those already in line at 7am are my friends who are still in school.  Wish I was so I could just skip out on a whole day of responsibilities!!!  I am getting out of work early though to join the line, hoping to get a semi-decent seat in the student section (and by that I mean probably half way up the upper deck).

All I know is the BC is gonna be rocking tonight!  THIS GAME IS HUGE!!!!!

WE ARE MARQUETTE!!!

Lucky bastards.  I have a Theo essay test at 11 I'm going to bomb because I can't think about anything but basketball.  Then to the BC!

For those of us not in Milwaukee, Wednesday is the night I usually play basketball than grab some pizza and beer afterwards.  I can count on one hand the number of times I have missed it the past three years.

I am missing it tonight though!  I have my obscenely gold and well-worn Marquette sweatshirt washed and ready to wear when I get home tonight!

Love it.
The tradition continues. Wonder if they'll stop off at Buck's or Turners for a mid-morning eye-opener too...

+1.  Trying to write a Philosophy paper and study for an Econ test, and I can't make myself care enough to do either.

If anyone is still looking for tickets, I just got one for a buddy coming up from Chicago for $24 at Ticket King Milwaukee. Thought this may be useful

If they win this game, skipping class today is going to bleed into staying out all night, sleeping through Thursday classes, then going out Thursday night, only to be too tired to even think about going to anything on Friday.

Nice touch scheduling the game for Ash Wensday, thereby enabling alum to leave work early for "religious reasons".  Another unanticipated but favorable impact on the school will be when the TV cameras show a sea of students/alum displaying a cross on their foreheads.  No room for doubt that WE ARE MARQUETTE is more than a cheer.

Gesu should send a priest for those in line that could not make it to church!
