IMPACT HIRE

If it all falls into place this will be impact hire of impact hires. Doc Rivers and Co. stepped up and showed why MU is an elite program.

This would be the definition of an impact hire. Can't imagine a bigger one?
"Half a billion we used to do about every two months...or as my old boss would say, 'you're on the hook for $8 million a day come hell or high water-.    Never missed in 6 years." - Chico apropos of nothing

Hope I don't end up looking like an a** on here. Feeling nervous right now if I had to be honest. Still a win-win for me though I guess...I'm a fan of both teams.

SMART hire.  Just leaving Nova, and a few guys who had just heard the rumors gave congrats (wearing MU hat).

Yep--just jumping on a train to NYC--seems Mrs. Legs Jr. needs to see the east coast schools before she does the right thing and joins Shaka at MU.

By the way, Eldon, why the shortening of the name?  -I noticed a couple of days ago but missed it if you said why.

That would be some interesting holiday celebrating over Christmas break if she went to Nova.

Given what happened when LegsJr. chose his college (the conference break-up, resulting in no games between the two schools), I don't want to think about it.

No specific reason, just for the heck of it.

I live in Philly so if you need anything/have any questions, I'm happy to help to the extent that I can.

Thanks--as she gets closer to making that decision (she's a junior, so it will be a while), I'll take you up on that.  Always good to have good peeps in place.

Legs, I got accepted to Nova...but made the right choice.

By the way, also got accepted to Dayton too!!!

Feel free to use me as an example to guide your child.

Goose/Keefe, are we still looking at an impact hire?

I know we will get a good coach, but will it be an impact hire? A dark horse who we don't know about?

There had been talk of a coach at a major school at a major conference or something of the sort.  Is that still the case?

Here's what I am thinking happened - Cords reaches out to Howland, who expresses serious interest - Cords reports back to Wild and Wild suggests that the "key parties" be vetted - when that happens, Strong gets wind and doesn't like it, wants us to shoot for Shaka, employs Doc to help out, Doc gets MU a meeting, meeting goes well and Strong fuels the "done deal" crap - but it was just a courtesy meeting all along and Shaka isn't good at batting off the suitors - Howland hears that the biggest booster isn't on board and takes his name out of the running knowing the problems that would cause - and here we are - without a true guiding voice
