Never said LW was sitting on his hands. He has a very big challenge ahead of him and MU has to put itself in a position of strength. At the current moment we have extremely weak hand. Nobody is waiting for us and that is the big hurdle. What about us being the driving force behind an all basketball conference?

It is tough to be a driving force when we both agree MU has a weak hand. Like I said, our only natural ally is DePaul. There is little we can do in this instance. Like it or not, MU will have to hope someone asks us to come along. Otherwise, MU and our friends in Chicago will be dialing the A-10 and hope they take us in.

The biggest downside to losing Louisville is no more dinners at Porcini

The A-10 would definitely be a step down.  Even if we can rip the basketball schools away from the Big East the result would be a weaker conference than the current Big East.  Let's not screw ourselves.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

It is AD's job to improve our hand and being a leader is what is needed. I have no reason to believe that LW is not working on hard to protect us and was simply making observation. Due to a weak hand we are not in position to wait and see what happens. Until proven otherwise I support LW and his ability to keep us in elite conference for the long haul. That is his job, correct?
