It's been a long time since I took English, but I think parsing deals with sentences usually, and parsing "words" relates to describing their part of speech, etc., as opposed to splitting hairs on the word's meaning.

With every recruit that Buzz has ever been on there has been a ton of disinformation.  It was much easier to follow MU recruiting when Crean was coach.

And Buzz knows JP well, along with his parents.  If JP cooled on us (or never really warmed up), I would think Buzz would know this and back off of recruiting him.

Remember that he seemed to back off of Jamil Wilson when it became apparent we were out of the picture.

Recruiting is as much about perceptions as it about results.  A high profile miss does not serve Buzz well.

Since is still after him (remember he was here on January 29 for Syracuse sitting next to Juan Anderson) I have to believe we are still in the mix.

Anything wrong with this logic?

You've made a premature debunking.

It's not a fall back for getting in.  Its a fall back in case someplace like UNC lands a player better than him and he doesn't want to be 2nd on the depth chart.

For example, if UNC lands Shabazz Muhammad--a consensus top 5 player at the same position--Tokoto may no longer want to attend UNC, even if it was his first choice.  He might choose a fall back position instead.

What's wrong with the kids these days who wouldn't want to be #2 on UNC's depth chart (or Duke, or Pitt, or OSU, etc. for that matter)?  If I'm the second best player in the country at my position and have an opportunity to play alongside #1, dang it if I'm not taking that opportunity.  Not only does it make my team better, I'm going to get better by practicing against #1 every day.

Sure, going to UNC with Shabazz will probably result in JPT ending up in the NBA a year or two later than he had hoped, but he's going to be a much better player when he does... and that will pay off in the long run.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

AnotherMU84...it also doesn't do harm for Buzz to continue with the relationship in case, like Wilson, circumstances change down the line.  If he goes to UNC, and things don't work out as he planned, MU can be that soft place to land.

This suggests that UNC is the globe trotters and everyone else if the Washington Generals.

I had lunch with a UNC grad today.  He brought up Tokoto, it was kind of funny.  He said this JP guy seems like a 4 year guy, a program guy.  Nothing electric but will be a good player to have on the team.

I guess some of the UNC faithful have been slamming on him because he's dropped some in the ratings.

I told him that isn't of major surprise, if you look at the highest rated Wisconsin kids in the last decade, most have taken some considerable time to get it going because they just don't play the competition in high school that others do.  Vander Blue is struggling, Brian Butch was absolutely nothing the first few years, Evan Anderson had to redshirt (like Butch), Stiemsma, Nankivil, etc, etc...all late bloomers.

Well, that's because we didn't have to follow any recruiting of big men.

..........and that's continued the last three years.

The problem is that they have a different word in mind for the highlighted one above.  That word is "behind."

+1 on Tokoto.  Not sure on Koenig

Koenig was just offered by UNC. He in the past has called them his "dream school". I would without a doubt consider them the favorite.

saw JP play at Tosa East tonight.

he has some flamboyance, that's for sure.
overall game has miles to go.

granted he's young- he'll be a good one.
but even tho' he was hands down the best player out there, he didn't dominate.
had some flashes, but certainly not the best HS player I've seen.... yet.
