===== High School Career =====

In 1987, Maskala was named to the Chicago Sun-Times All-State team and the Chicago Tribune's Third All-State team. That season, IHM made the Illinois Class AA state final and she helped Westchester Immaculate Heart of Mary hold off Massac County, which moved up from Class A, 45-43 despite losing their star forward to fouls.

She was named to the Champaign News-Gazette and Sun-Times All-State teams as well as the Tribune's Third All-State team in 1988.

Her senior year, Maskala repeated as an All-State selection in the News-Gazette and Sun-Times and was named to the Tribune's First All-State team in 1989. She also finished as the Ms. Illinois Basketball runner-up.

===== Marquette Career =====

One of the most prolific scorers in Marquette history, Maskala scored in double figures in 85 of 89 career games and was a three-time Great Midwest Conference First Team selection.

A member of the women’s basketball team from 1991-1994, Maskala helped Marquette achieve many firsts in the history of the program. 

In 1992, Marquette made its first postseason appearance in the National Women’s Invitation Tournament (NWIT), after capturing first place in the Great Midwest Conference with a 10-0 record. Maskala was a First Team All-Great Midwest selection. 

The following season, Marquette would make its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, after the team tallied a program-best 22 wins. Maskala was again rewarded for her play with with back-to-back First Team All-Great Midwest honors.

After the 1993-94 season in which she earned her third First Team All-Great Midwest accolade, Maskala received the Hank Raymonds Sportsmanship Award as well as the McCahill award in 1994.

Maskala was named the state of Wisconsin Woman of the Year by the NCAA in 1994.

Her name is inked in the Marquette women’s basketball record books, as she holds the all-time career scoring average record at 19.6 points per game. 

She led the Warriors in scoring in each of her three seasons with 21.9, 19.6 and 17.5 points, respectively each season from 1992-1994. Maskala left Marquette with 1,745 career points in three seasons, which currently ranks third on the all-time scoring list. She also set single-season records in points (635), scoring average (21.9), and field goals made (242), in 1991-92. 

A student-athlete in every sense of the word, Maskala earned academic All-American recognition in each of her three seasons, becoming the first female Marquette student-athlete to have that honor. Following completion of her senior year in 1994, Maskala was named the GTE Academic All-American of the Year in women's basketball, and she was one of only 14 women's basketball players to earn an NCAA postgraduate scholarship.

In 2004, she was inducted into the M Club Hall of Fame in 2004.

Dr. Maskala is currently an orthopedic surgeon in West Bend, WI.

She also volunteers as the team doctor for Hartford High School and organizes a free girl’s basketball camp each fall in Washington County with fellow former teammates from Marquette.
