===== High School Career =====
Tony was a three-year letter-winner in basketball at Kiel High School, where he played for Robb Leonhard.  He earned all-conference recognition in each of his seasons of competition.  As a senior, he averaged 16 points, 4.5 assists per game.  

===== Marquette Career =====
Tony originally started out in the Marquette program as a student manager, but eventually earned a spot on the squad as a walk-on.

== 2002-03 ==
Tony saw action in seven games.  He scored three points, all from the foul line against Grambling State on December 28th.  His first collegiate action came in the Eastern Illinois game on November 26th, where he dished out one assist.  Tony also saw action in the NCAA Tournament games against Kentucky on March 29th and Kansas on April 5th.

===== Personal =====
Tony's parents are Dennis & Sandra Gries.  He was also a four-time letter-winner in baseball and track, garnering all-state acclaim in baseball his senior year.  His major was exercise science.
