+Marc was the first basketball player in Marquette history to be named an Academic All-American.  He averaged 4.5 points per game as a freshman, 8.5 points per game as a sophomore, 9.5 points per game as a junior and 10.2 points per game as a senior.  He led the team in rebounding in both the [[1982|1982-83]] and [[1983|1983-84]] seasons.  He also served as team tri-captain - with [[glenn_doc_rivers|Doc Rivers]] and [[Terrell Schlundt]] - during his senior year.

+Marc Marotta was drafted by the New York Knicks in the ninth round of the 1984 NBA draft.  Instead of pursuing basketball, mark chose to study law at Harvard University. He is now a partner in the Transactional & Securities and Public Affairs Practices withe Foley & Lardner.
