 +Accordingly, the Al McGuire Center, a $31-million, 120,000-square foot facility features first-class practice courts for men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball, large and comfortably designed men’s and women’s locker rooms and lounges; a media room to accommodate local and national press;
  
-Constructed in honor of its indomitable namesake, the Al McGuire Center is a nod to past glories and a promise of future triumphs. A true gem of a building, the center includes strength and conditioning and sports medicine facilities, an academic center for student-athletes, administrative offices, practice areas, and a “Walk of Champions” to honor Marquette’s rich athletics history. The center also provides the ultimate home-court advantage for the women’s basketball team, and is an ideal venue for the university’s convocation ceremonies and other university and community events. In all its functions, the name of the game in the Al McGuire Center will always be personal excellence and leadership. +A two-tiered, 4,000-seat arena for women’s basketball and volleyball games, complete with concession areas; the Marquette University Athletics Hall of Fame, which will serve as a small museum promoting the fine tradition of Marquette athletics, including a prominent display dedicated to Coach McGuire; and the Commons Area, located in the arena concourse, which will serve as a gathering place for pre-and post-game receptions and other University events.
