Posting etiquette of info from other boards
« on: July 15, 2008, 02:57:50 PM »
I am not sure where to post this but thought this felt like the right place.
Is there an etiquette to posting info one learns from other boards where you are a premium subscriber or a link you come across from another board. Some people earn a living off premium subscriptions and info so I don't want to ruffle any feathers.
Thanks.

Generally speaking .. if it's a public site, feel free to link, or if you are feeling helpful, copy the text with the link (to properly accredit it.)

If it's a premium site .. do not cut and paste.  HOWEVER.  You may paraphrase the information, of course.   The provider of the premium information might not like that, but what you do with the info after they sell it to you is your business, as long as you're not repeating it verbatim.

This probably wouldn't help longtime posters as they'll never look at it again, but maybe this should go in the welcome/instructions/tips message in the Al?

Good idea - I'll add it.
