Welcome to Al's Blue Chips
« on: May 14, 2008, 11:26:29 AM »
My idea for this section was to talk all about the recruits and it will be really helpful to keep information more organized not only now but also during the season when different things about the actual team and news on recruits tend to get disorganized.

My thought was that we could simply start topics under the subject of a recruit's name (i.e. Jimmy Butler) and all information regarding jimmy could be put under his name so that the site remains organized and so that people don't need to look through a long list of previous Topics to find all the information of the recruit.

As rocky warrior stated this new section is in a trial stage, if you guys have any suggestions on how this may be organized better feel free to express them here.

Nice gesture, but rather have it all on one board.  Don't enjoy jumping back and forth, etc.

If we would have hired Nick Nolte there would be.

Good job on making this!  I can help out in any way needed.  Anyway, I hope we can get this board filled with recruiting news  ;D  I think this will really help separate recruiting info from talk during the season, because tons of threads are started each day during the basketball season

Yeah, I don't see what the big deal of clicking one extra time to get to a more organized recruiting place.  This will also give newcomers easier access to recent news on our recruits.

I, too, do not like jumping back and forth. However, whenever I look for recruiting information, it's time-consuming and frustrating to scan page after page for scattered info.

So, it's nice to see it in one place.

Jumping...I'll get over it.

Like Crean. ;)

EDIT: One rec...move this section ABOVE the SuperBar.

Now that scoop has many more users than 2 years ago and many more posts each day, I think it would be nice to bring back the Al's Blue Chips board.  Recruiting posts are easy to miss in Hangin at the Al.

People's objection a few years back was that they didn't want to check another board.  I feel like the Superbar hadn't really taken off yet so people were focused primarily on Hangin at the Al.  Maybe now that people have gotten used to checking more than one board they would be more open to a recruting board?

The wiki gives great information on the recruits, but you can't discuss the recruits there.

Just wondering what people thought.

I completely agree.  It would be nice to organize this into a separate board.

I fear change.

To a large extent, I don't care, since I always hit "Show unread posts since last visit" which dumps all the threads from all boards into one page.   I don't even notice what gets posted where.

But .. I'd rather just have basketball stuff on one forum.  The recruiting stuff goes up when the season ends, down when it begins.  -- And this topic comes up every March.
