Any thoughts on Jim O'Brien former Ohio St. coach? He was aquitted of the recruiting scandal that got him fired at OSU. I believe OSU was doing well under him ??? Midwest recruiting ties, coached several yewars in a big conference. Should be able to handle the rigors of the BEAST as long as he hasn't lost his edge sitting on the sidelines the last few years.

Well, not really.  He was granted a victory in the courts that he was wrongfully terminated and thus won some damages.  But he still broke NCAA rules and ones that were plain as day.  Those are big rules to violate, giving a player cash (even if if was a loan).  Therefore he's not an option

I remember, like the year before That Matta, watching an Ohio State game and wondering if they would ever win a game again they were so bad.  If this guy was the coach then, then I hope he ends up at Notre Dame when Brey leaves.
