TAMU, Knower of Ball

Hopefully today's ft shooting is an outlier

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Final after 24 minutes:
Blue 46
White 34

Blue shot well and Royce couldn't be stopped. White missed a lot and didn't get much from Ian or Alex

We could go 0-for-25 from the line every game and still have an undefeated season.

I was impressed with Johnston's play.  He is really aggressive!  Did foul quite a bit but I think he has a bright future.

Any attendees provide a review? Thanks

My freshman daughter attended the scrimmage with a bunch of her friends. A direct quote from her, via text: "Dad, these guys are good."  My interpretation: Looks like we're back and have a good shot at a natty.

Was Porter required to sit?

With a shortage of subs, the guys did get tired which made for some sloppy play at times.  Adrien Stevens looked really good...he was guarding NJ the majority of the time and those two really went at one another. Josh Clark is going to be just fine as the backup big...won't score much but he influences so many shots around the hoop. They now list him at 7'1" and if anything looks bigger than that. With no Phillips or DO, Ethan Johnston is probably the next in line at the wing spots. He is not a scorer but defends well and is very capable handling the ball. Minnesale does everything pretty well and plays with a calm demeanor that I think will help this team. Fru brings exactly what they need...an experienced big that can score and rebound. The player I am probably the most interested in seeing how he progresses is Nash Walker. The rust from not playing due to his shoulder injury is still evident, but his shot looks great and, although he only went 1-5 from the 3pt line, he plays with some swagger that stands out. I could see him carve out a role as a shooter as things move forward.

I agree completely. He is advanced for his age....hopefully he doesn't see the floor because older teammates are rolling!

Thank You and agree with this. Friends of mine were at the scrimmage. They said Marquette looked way better than last year. They said many positive things about Marquette. Only negative might have been a little too much one on one play. But if Marquette Wins who cares. They overall gave a glowing review. They feel Marquette will have a winning record this year and make the Big Dance.
