Vander Blue Man Group

Quote from: muwarrior69 on September 04, 2026, 09:01:14 AM...but if we lose it doesn't matter according to VBM. So which is it?

What I said is losing on the road by 10+ to a very good team in the 3rd game of the season would not spell doom for the rest of the season.

I do think that game became much more manageable when they lost Brandon McCoy for the season. I'm glad we're playing them early before their front court has had time to gel and without their best wing.

Still underdogs, but I think our odds went from around 10% chance of winning up to around 30%.

Quote from: muwarrior69 on September 04, 2026, 09:06:37 AMYep, if you don't win that one you still come up short. How many people remember the runner-up?

Off the top of my head UConn last year, Duke in 90, Marquette in 74 (admittedly biased), Illinois in 05, Memphis in 08, Butler in 2010 & 2011, Wisconsin in 2015 (admittedly biased), Georgetown in 82, Georgetown 85, Houston 83, Kansas 03, UNC 16, I know seton Hall has one in the late 80s as well.

I'm sure if I tried harder I'd remember a few more.

Well here we are. One person on Scoop who follows college basketball can rattle off quite a few runner ups. I said not many. Not just a few here on Scoop.

I mean, I could name everyone since the tourney expanded to 64.  Quite a few fans couldn't name all the national champs in that range if it wasn't their team.

Y'all sound like a bunch of losers - as opposed to eeyore69, a true winner because he can name the team that won the '77 championship.

Nothing else matters. Might as well shut down the program.

Can't remember all of them but there's lots of runners up to remember

OK! OK! I am pushing 80 and have more important things to remember, like my meds. I over stepped as we take college basketball and especially Marquette basketball very seriously here.

I'm only a little younger than you and neither expect nor hope that anyone gives a rat's ass about my age or meds. Or my prostrate. Oops, I mean prostate.

Thanks for the revelation that we take Marquette basketball very seriously here. However, another purpose of this forum is so that scoopers can look up readily available information for you, like radio coverage for the UWGB game. It also provides you an opportunity to whine about many subjects and to pose endless questions for others here to answer.

Wild horses couldn't drag me into either political party, but for very different reasons.
