That sums it up.  I wholeheartedly agree.  With health they are a top 25 team.

I'm hopeful and optimistic. MU still has to make a great leap to be in that conversation. I think they can do it.

No credibility.  Clearly focused on late season improvement, who returns, how the new players fit in and what they bring, instead of obsessing about who is the second string center and who is the third string center.  Far too gracious and optimistic.

Don't forget about obsessing over a back up guard.  If we are going to be sanctimonious, we need to be honest as well.

Another guard would be nice.

Interesting! I'm surprised you never mentioned this before.

Edit: Your phantom guard needs a number so we can refer to him that way when we lose a game due to his absence from the roster. My suggestion is #19.

It would not surprise me if Crowdis is no longer on the team when classes start.

Badger - Classes start in a few weeks.
Why would Crowdis leave ?  It seems he's a glorified walk - on.  What else would he do ?

Re: the original topic...

I think this team ( if they stay healthy) should be a top 25 ish team.  James will be an all American, and the starting 5 is great.  They will need help from the bench.

rgoode57

Little doubt the team will be better than last year, but way too early to start talking about top 25 ranking or tournament seeding. I am going to wait to see how they perform against a few good non-conf opponents. The team will certainly be fun to watch, but I am "wait and see" on their possible success for the season. Can they shoot?... Can they rebound?... Can they defend? We shall see.

Why do you say that? I think he is playing the role that was defined for him before he even came to MU. A "preferred walk on" type.

He signed a financial aid agreement and probably a revenue share contract, so why would he leave? And why would MU sign him just to cut him at the end of the summer?

Yep. As much as we both hope that the expectations become reality, I think we need to see this team playing opponents like the exhibition game with MSU and the non-cons vs. UM and UVA. The Vancouver games were fun, but umm...

I'm optimistic, but cautiously so. I'm hoping this season will be like Shaka's 2nd ("Ef' em!", in the words of Dr. Tyler Kolek, Phd.).

Because he may not even be good enough to be a practice player.

I didn't say it would happen, I said I would not be surprised if it did.

MU is going to be picked in the top half of the conference, and Hurley and Slick Rick have been rightfully hyping up MU as a BE title contender.

So just give him the old Roseboro treatment?
