Quote from: Florida Warrior on July 12, 2026, 05:05:08 PMThey should definitely play Notre Dame home-and-home every year.
And let me preference this by saying I know it will never happen, but I think would be cool to see.
A Wisconsin Classic (like the old Milwaukee Classic years ago)
- UWM vs. Marquette
- UWGB vs. Wisconsin
- Winners and losers play the next night
- Marquette and Wisconsin alternate host years, also alternating playing UWM or UWGB in first round.
Yes, there would be a possibility MU and UW might not play each other in the championship each year, but it would be super fun, likely sell out all four games every year and would get some national publicity.
This would be Wisconsin's version of the Big Five Classic in Philadelphia.

Oh God no.

Notre Dame, but they won't play us because they know we will kick their a@ses.

Vanderbilt — Would love a reason to go back to Memorial Gym and to welcome them to the FiServ.

Iowa — Always a good game.

Minnesota — See Iowa.

1) doesn't know the history of the rivalry.
2) apparently confuses Notre Dame football with Notre Dame basketball.

Their Fans, players, the auspicious institution in general believes they are superior to the likes of our institution. So why waste time scheduling a H and H  with us peasants instead of a more worthy program?

They literally played us in a home and home a few years ago and after MU beat them badly twice the new coach said something like " where our program is right now continuing the series probably doesn't makes sense"

In other words they were rebuilding............they've been rebuilding ever since.

Northwestern. Only Big16 team we haven't played since 2000. It's dumb, but probably only makes sense to me.

Other than L'ville the move to the ACC has not been as successful on the court for all the other former Big East teams from what I can tell. Perhaps the stat guys can correct me on that.

The Big Five has never been a tournament (it was a round robin), and most games are played on campus, and most MTEs have moved beyond that format and are now two- or three-set games. The only way for it to work would be for MU and Madison to both play GB and Milwaukee, not a tournament.

And why would Marquette water down schedule like that?

Anyway, the Big Five is now six with the addition of Drexel. And it is in two, three team pods with a fifth, third and championship game in December. Villanova won all its games by 20+ points.

UWM and UWGB would be better than New Hampshire, Mercyhurst, and Chicago State. Cheaper to bring in too. Redirect the savings to NIL.
