I'm getting a chuckle that you don't understand how the situations were completely different. Just compare Hamilton's and Williams' sophomore year stats and you can see how.

So when people were saying "we're really arguing over 90 seconds" when saying Hamilton is in line for 10 mpg and others pointed out he played 8.5 mpg over the last 19 games of the season, and now 90 seconds less than that (what EW averaged his sophomore year, while starting 11 games) is wildly different that Caedin?

Shaka overestimated what Caedin could be last year.  He had him in the starting lineup when he never should have been.  He realized that and, despite the fact that we only had Ben Gold, Royce Parham, and Josh Clark to compete for minutes with, Caedin only 8.5 mpg over the last 19 games.  That includes two games where one of Ben/Royce was out with injury.

The counterpoint to that is "Well he played in the first half!"  Yet EW is a bad counterpoint as a starter because he played...what was deemed as an immaterial amount of time less than what CH did over the last 19 games of the year?

Okay, I guess!

The reality is, Shaka went into the offseason and targeted a starting 5 and had Sheek signed up to return.  I know JayBee is just doing schtick to get the rise out of people with anxiety over this that we're seeing, but Shaka didn't go into this offseason thinking, "Hey, we're in a great spot with Caedin."  It's very clear he knew we needed an upgrade there.  And the good news?  He got one!  One that is much better than Ben Gold was, and Royce will be a year older and hopefully stronger going into next season.

Of course it'd be nice to have another backup big.  Someone like, say, Sheek Pearson on the roster.  Like I've said, we can't bemoan Shaka for not playing the portal game, and then get mad when the portal game bites us once we jump into it.

No.  I'm saying that unlike just about every high major program, Shaka had been able to keep every player he wanted to from season to season, but he also hadn't dipped into the portal since his first season.  We were never going to start getting into the portal AND retain every player we wanted to keep.  That's just not reasonable whatsoever.

What don't you agree with? Marquette is routinely near the top of college hoops in attendance. They spend a lot of money. This is a great basketball program. We should expect to win in Milwaukee against everyone and anyone.

Everyone will lose games at home, no big deal, but I still think we should expect to win. Have some pride in the program!
