Quote from: GoldenEagles03 on Today at 09:06:36 AMDo you think we will all of a sudden be incapable of creating good shots without Smith on the bench?

I don't think it will necessarily be sudden, but if he was the one running the system, I can see some regression from players who are less familiar with what we want to do. Will the current staff be as good at acclimating Minessale, Fru, and others to Smith's system if we continue to run it?

What I'm more worried about is development in the back court. Whatever the truth behind Haynes departure, he was absolutely elite at getting the most out of guards. Zavier Simpson, Ant Cowan, Darryl Morsell, Tyler Kolek, Kam Jones, Stevie Mitchell, he excelled at getting those guys to the level they played at, and while it was Smith's offense, I think it was just as much Haynes being really good at taking players and getting them to execute that system.

Just like it took a couple years to see Smith's system really get ingrained so we were consistently a top-40 offense. I don't think we'll see immediate falloff, but I do think in the next 3-4 years we could see some backsliding in terms of offense.
