Today in Bracketology. Marquette gets a Bye and is a # 9 Seed playing # 8 Seed USC with the Winner playing the Winner of #1 Seed Arizona versus #16 Seed B-CU/Long Island in Sacramento  in the West Los Angeles Region

This is a Pitino thing. When he coached at LulVille (Big East) he would underperform during non-con and play well during Big East season.

Would do no favors to Big East for metric purposes, other than their inevitable good tourney runs... which would help tournament shares of course.

Agree noticed this too and was going to post.
In General at Louisville and Saint John's Pitino's teams tend to win more Meaningful games in Conference rather than pre conference for some reason.
