I'm reading that the NCAA has approved a new 5 year, age based eligibility rule for D-1 athletes. Does the new 5 year rule apply to Fru? Here's hoping we get him for more than one year.

We discussed this question earlier this offeason: https://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=67831.0.

Since that discussion, the NCAA has simplified things by removing the HS graduation trigger. Now the clock starts when you enroll at college, or the academic year following your 19th birthday.

It depends on when the academic year starts,  but I still think we're getting two years of Fru. NCAAs academic year (and most universities' academic years) start August 1. Frus birthday is August 28.

Fru did mention in the Steele article that this will be his last season in college......now did he say that because the rule had not been passed yet or because he doesn't want to stay for another year I have no idea.
