Jockey

After almost no deliberation, Jockey has decided to return as a Marquette fan next year. Although a handful of schools dangled several nickels to try to get me to come to their side, I have and will continue to support the team.

We can only hope other scoopers take the money offered them to go be mopes elsewhere.

I am the new GM. So if the team stinks next year you can blame me, but if we have a deep run in the tournament my "eye test evaluation" of talent is unsurpassed.

Oh, c'mon Tower. Let him claim the Yugo as representative of him. It fits. Widely considered the worst car made in the past 50 years. Known for parts falling off while driving, the steering wheel becoming detached in the middle of making a turn, the brakes simply failing because...well, just because. I would not be the least surprised if muwarriors69 bought one. I heard that the engine whined constantly.
Wild horses couldn't drag me into either political party, but for very different reasons.

Ease up on requiring the GM tie-in just because he is so proud of his new position, and opportunities broaden for analogies.

AMC Pacer. The Russian Lada. The East German Trabant. In WWII, the Czechs loved it when the Nazis commandeered their crappy cars (can't remember the brand) because they would often crash. Allegedly, the Czech cars took out more Nazis than the Czech Resistance.

My dad was a GM employee so he got the company discount. In 2001 they purchased an Aztec AWD. Despite its looks it was a reliable car. After my mom passed away my dad signed it over to my daughter. She thought it was ugly as well, but when she and her friends could pack all their beach gear in the back they were happy and stopped complaining about its looks.

Some Aztecs are selling for up to 6k on Edmunds.

If it fits, I'll wear it! If it makes you feel better I can take it, but your description is a perfect metaphor for this year's team.

The Aztek was a poorly executed concept way ahead of its time.  When I see one on the road, I ponder how many modern vehicles are trying to be less ugly versions of it.

I'll cop to owning one for a short time.  I was able to buy a brand new one dirt cheap.  It actually ran great and it was great with my kids who were 2 and 4 at the time.  You could pack a ton of things in it.  The rear seats came out and I remember moving a loveseat once.  We slid in the back and the gate closed with room to spare.

The custodian at the school my wife taught at was also a mechanic on weekends.  He told my wife that GM put the best engine they made in the vehicle.

Perhaps I'm the only Scooper to have driven one (a couple!).  As a teenager I worked at a carpet store.  The (cheap ass) owner bought a couple for employees to drive around for sales appointments or...whatever.  Instead they let a teenager with no manual transmission experience drive around those ... vehicles.  I completed a few lunch runs successfully.  'Nuff said.
