Quote from: The Sultan on September 09, 2026, 09:06:30 AMTo be fair, he has toned down the clownish stuff the second half of the season and is a deserved MVP candidate.

But for TT to claim that it's a "rent free" thing is pretty lol-worthy.

Disagree. But he deserves the MVP and will win it.

He definitely has. First half he botched routine fly balls, forgot how many outs there were and allowed an inside the park HR. Prior to that, he made cartoonish jumps at the wall in the postseason.

He's been on an absolute tear and deserves credit for that, and part of that is being less of a toolbag

He's still had some clown moments in the 2nd half (personality, not play) but you're right. If he hadn't had the first half incidents, I'd probably view his 2nd half behavior a little differently.

Quote from: TallTitan34 on September 09, 2026, 08:15:32 AMI love how PCA lives rent free in Brewer's fans heads.

I do not love having the worst pitching WAR in baseball.

Almost as rent free as the Packers live in Cubs' (and Sox's) fans heads?

I'm just glad PCA wanted to see a lot of fastballs from Miz two starts against the Cubs ago, and last night he came up trying to bunt against him.  1/15 with 11 Ks is solid, I can see why he'd want to face a lot of Miz's fastballs.

It'll be crazy when the Cubs finish the season with these WAR finishes:

Hitting #1
Defense #1
Pitching #30

Also not out of the realm of possibility where both Chicago baseball teams miss the playoffs (although the Padres/Diamondbacks series to end the season theoretically should help the Cubs).

The rot starts at the top.

To win this year, the bullpen needed vast improvement. So they signed...... Phil Maton.

Maybe PCA should smile more

The Peralta trade hasn't really worked out for anyone.

As bad as the pitching has been, it would have somehow been even worse if not for the defense behind them.

Maybe not yet.  But Sproat and Jett Williams are still very young and will have several years to make an impact.  Peralta definitely didn't work out for the Mets, but they did flip him for 3 prospects from the Rays in July.  Time will tell if any of them are worth anything.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

I feel like the league leader in errors at center field shouldn't be the mvp...

When you're jumping for balls that are 50 feet over the wall, you're bound to make "errors" on plays that your regular center fielder doesn't even attempt to make.

He's so fast that routine errors are because normal players would have fielded them cleanly a second later

I hope Miz breaks his leg. Good guy, he's going to do well for this game. But everyone always says we hope everyone stays healthy. No I hope he breaks his femur.
