Pre-trade deadline, I actually expect the NL playoffs to be mostly the same as last year.

Wild Card series will be different but Cubs/Brewers and Dodgers/Phillies NLDS then Brewers/Dodgers NLCS.  Dodgers WS.

The Twins won yesterday on Kody Clemens' 2-out, 2-strike, 9th-inning grand slam. The Athletic called it an "ultimate grand slam" because the Twins were down by 3.

The Athletic's Jayson Stark said it was only the 34th "ultimate grand slam" in MLB history, and either the 15th or 16th such slam with two outs (depending on which database is used).

Assuming he reclaims his Brewers form, he'd be our 3rd or 4th best starting pitcher and a guy that's absolutely valuable to the team.

Big assumption with his 5 era.  So-so postseason history too.

He wouldn't be the first pitcher to be great for the Brewers, leave and be bad for a new team, and then return and be good for the Brewers again.

For a team that just traded for Lance McCullers because they need some pitchers to eat some innings, the Brewers could do a lot worse.

They need to think about postseason primarily and guys that can get them to a WS.

It seems like they're going about as hard as you'd expect them to after Skubal.  After that, there's going to be even more competition for starters that are not as good as Skubal, and Freddy will honestly be one of the more sought after trade pieces.  There aren't a lot of sellers with the expanded Playoff field.

I think it would be extremely difficult for Stearns to work a deal for Freddy to Milwaukee without making it look like Arnold fleeced him in the off-season.
