GB Warrior

I hated 3 outcome baseball. I have always considered OBP to be the most important stat on offense. HRs are nice, but OBP is where it's at.

Fun fact. Brewers have some absolute ballers who can — apparently — win all sorts of ways. Chourio was quiet in this series (with some very hard-hit outs) but he, Mitchell, Bauers, and Contreras can absolutely mash

MU82

I was at County Stadium in 1982 for the Games 3-4-5 comeback vs the Angels and then for Games 3-4-5 of the World Series - a truly enduring memory of mine.

It's thrilling to see the Brewers back in the World Series, and congrats to all the Brew Crew fans!

I think I saw Chourio had 7 100+ EV outs in this series.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Quote from: Jockey on Today at 09:58:11 AMBecause of walks - not HRs.

Job one of virtually EVERY hitter is to avoid making an out.

No, it's due to all three, but mostly Ks followed by HRs.

Brewers Hitting in NLCS:
7 HR
18 BB
45 K

A rate of 7 HRs in 4 games would translate to 284 HRs over the course of a regular season. That would be the 5th most in a single season in MLB history.

A rate of 18 BBs in 4 games would translate to 729 BBs over the course of a regular season. That would be tied for the 17th most in a single season in MLB history.

A rate of 45 Ks in 4 games would translate to 1823 Ks over the course of a regular season. That would obliterate the record for most Ks in a single season in MLB history by almost 200.

In the NLCS the Brewers were the ultimate three true outcome team.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.
