I kinda think this is more Hurley setting the stage for their first round game on Thursday. That game was no different than dozens of other college basketball games these days. I also think UConn's week off showed.

I was at the game as well. I wondered for a fleeting second whether anyone would storm the court, but honestly I am glad it didn't happen, it would have been embarrassing. Plus there were so few students that would have not made for a good optic anyway. Not even close to us beating Villanova, the #1 ranked team in the country at the time, and in dramatic fashion as well.

How many times this season have we seen MU players (Ross) launch themselves into defenders under the hoop and not get the call? Way too many times. The call at the end of the game looked 100% consistent to MU's previous 30+ games.

Most of our drives, the UConn player would have hand on the Marquette player's hip pushing him away from the basket. I thought Ross was fouled on his fast break lay up. The biggest no call was when Stevens knocked the ball away at half court, their Ross dove for the ball and took Stevens out, leading to the Mullins 3 and started the UConn rally late. It goes both ways.

Most disappointed that the story from the game was that the coach was a bozo and rightfully ejected. Nothing on how well MU played or a complete 180 from the game two months ago. On Senior Day with two 4 year players, the story was whether the coach bumped an official or not. So dumb.

hurley is delusional. Yes, the BE is overly physical and UConn is at the top. Was at the game and UConn was fouling hard on multiple plays many of which were not whistled.

That was really something. "I'm пot iпterested iп ... chasiпg headliпes." Hilarious.

In the grand universe of physical basketball games, I didn't think that one was particularly physical. Pretty much every game involving St. John's and Seton Hall is much more physical. And missed calls ... UConn should have been called for fouls on several huge plays down the stretch; they weren't, and that's basketball, and Marquette persevered despite it.

Just a weird take after that game. I actually usually get a kick out of Hurley, but I'm now extra glad we kicked his team's butt!

I expect Hurley to feebly circle back with this beyond asinine take, especially if MU plays UCONN on Thursday.
