Quote from: Pakuni on July 22, 2026, 02:20:16 PMGood news, guys. The administration wants to give the people who did 9/11 the ability to make nukes.
And no, it has nothing to do with billions in business dealings. Don't be so cynical.

President Donald Trump has approved a nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia that could lead to the kingdom enriching its own fuel for civilian reactors without adopting the "gold standard" of international oversight, according to two US officials and a source familiar with the matter.

The deal would last 30 years and could be announced as soon as Wednesday, according to one US official, who added that it would involve American companies providing technology and expertise to develop the Saudi program.

Any agreement to give Saudi Arabia access to nuclear technology could prove controversial, both domestically and within the wider Middle East region, since the ability to enrich nuclear fuel could, in theory, eventually lead to the creation of nuclear weapons.

The Saudi King is getting a great return on his investment after having showered America's wannabe king and his family with $$$, material objects and flattery. MBS has played our "leader" like a fiddle - as so many other autocratic world leaders have.

The White House occupant often has used outrage about 9/11 to benefit himself, but now he hands an unchecked pathway to nuclear weapons to the country that harbored almost all of the 9/11 terrorists.

We live in Bizarro America.

Yeah, but what about the stuff they put inside them?

What happens when this number goes much lower?  The current administration can't hide gas prices forever.  70mb is the absolute minimum for the storage to actually function, but the true national security floor is 250mb.  With current levels (as of 7/17!) at 311mb and a current outflow of 5mb/week we are looking at a few months before the national security floor is met, and the real pain begins.  Shortages, soaring prices, and a shock to inflation are all on the current menu since there seems to be no real signs of tangible negotiations progressing.

All of this remains true should nothing else happen internationally.  If the Houthis decide to shut down the BAM straight, its going to be even worse.

You thought the world disliked the US foreign policy before, just wait, man.  Just wait.

Yup, to quote Dubya - aka The Decider: "It's better to fight them there than here."

It worked out great for us in Iraq ... and with Captain Bone Spur at the helm this time, it will work out perfectly.

"On Wednesday, the Pentagon reported on its casualties website that a total of 18 American service members had been killed during the war in Iran.

By Thursday, the Defense Department had lowered that number, reporting that 14 American troops had been killed in the war.

Three military officials said that one reason behind the change was that the Trump administration decided to remove four service members killed this past weekend from the list — three in Jordan and one in northern Iraq — because their deaths occurred after President Trump declared a cease-fire in the war in April."

What a pig.

Meanwhile, according to the Wall Street Journal ...

Iran has quickly rebuilt infrastructure damaged during the U.S. and Israeli bombing campaign over recent months, according to Israeli and Western officials and a review of satellite imagery.

The work ranges from missile bases nestled deep inside mountains to bridges, ports and production facilities. Tehran's speedy recovery raises concerns about the effectiveness of the U.S. and Israeli air campaign.

Even as the worst president ever loses his war with Iran, his administration has officially admitted that it is in a financial war with all those who won't bend the knee to him ...

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/24/business/trump-state-grants-canceled.html?

When the Trump administration canceled more than $7.5 billion in Biden-era federal grants for clean energy projects in October, it framed the move as an urgent corrective to protect taxpayer funds from waste.

But it wasn't true.

In little-noticed court documents, federal officials acknowledged this month that they had terminated the funding "based solely" on political criteria, targeting projects in states that were represented by Democrats and had voted for Kamala Harris, the party's presidential nominee, in the 2024 election.

The admission showed how President Trump has weaponized the provision of federal education, energy, health, housing and infrastructure aid in his second term. Far from rooting out the sort of misspending that Mr. Trump sees as rife in Washington, the White House has instead sought to leverage the budget as a tool to assist its allies — or as a cudgel to hurt the president's foes.

American intelligence agencies believe that Iran's new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, is far more interested than his father and predecessor in pursuing a nuclear weapon, according to officials briefed on the assessments.

Ayatollah Khamenei's father, who was killed at the start of the war in an Israeli attack aided by U.S. intelligence, had sworn off developing a nuclear weapon. While American officials long asserted that Iran wanted to be capable of building a nuclear weapon, many believed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's hesitancy was genuine.

What could go wrong?

The two wars have officially merged. Iran says a Ukrainian drone attack on its ship in the Caspian has killed a sailor. Ukraine earlier said it was targeting vessels ferrying arms between Russia and Iran on the Caspian Sea.
