60 Minutes confirms Iran is bypassing the US blockade and exporting 100,000 more barrels of oil per day than before the war. Most of it is reportedly going to China.

Incredible strategic move....

Well, it's time to put up a new blockade that will stop 500%, 600%, 700%, 1200%, 1400%, even 1500% of the traffic.

Peace deal arriving bigly!

Hours after Iranian negotiators arrived in Qatar for talks on ending the war, U.S. forces struck missile launch sites in Iran and boats trying to emplace mines, American officials said Monday night.

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2026/05/25/world/iran-war-trump?

U.S. Central Command characterized the strikes in southern Iran as defensive and said they had been intended "to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces."

"Central Command continues to defend our forces while using restraint during the ongoing cease-fire," Capt. Tim Hawkins, a Central Command spokesman, said in a statement.

The strikes came on a day when Israel signaled that it planned to intensify its fight against the Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon. With the two conflicts closely intertwined, escalation in the
fighting in Lebanon might make it still harder for negotiators to reach a peace deal.

Nothing builds trust more than the aggressor, who unilaterally started the war, violating the cease fire, when again the other party was actively involved in negotiations.

And, to add to the trust-building exercise the ally who was the aggressor in starting the war, continuing to violate the cease fire in Lebanon while saying they are going to step on the pedal with their attacks.

But, they are the untrustworthy ones.

I drove by a gas station this morning and gas was $3.99 per gallon. They haven't been below $4.00 since April. Obviously, these low prices are due to the great leadership of our Dear Leader (and our loyalist Governor suspending the over 50 cents gas excise taxes). Thank you Dear Leader Trump.

Insisting that no country will control the Strait of Hormuz, Capt. Bone Spur directly threatened ... Oman?

"It's international waters and Oman will behave just like everybody else or we'll have to blow them up."

Good ceasefire he's got going, though. Heavy on the "fire," light on the "cease."

The Trump Who Cried Iran Deal
People have tuned out Trump's promises of a deal. That is starting a cascade of consequences.

"At some point, everyone involved with the Iran war debacle, from political figures to Wall Street investors to the news media, will resolve to stop lunging at every Trumpian pronouncement of a "deal" to end the war. Even the best possible reading of the latest announcement cannot credibly be described as a deal at all, but rather, agreements to begin talks to reach a deal.

Iran has expanded control of the Strait of Hormuz during this extended cease-fire, instituting checkpoints and imposing fees. They have even increased the geography by moving the boundaries of the strait itself, extending their zone of control by hundreds of miles."

My favorite snide remark (from a different source):
"Trump said over the weekend that a deal is "largely negotiated," which was reported on as if it might have some correlation to reality for some reason."
"The greatest economy in the history of the world is on the horizon."

China and Russia are loving this ...

The Iran war has exacerbated a shortage of missile-defense weaponry that is likely to plague the U.S. and its partners, from Ukraine to Taiwan, for years to come, Axios' Dave Lawler and Colin Demarest write.

Why it matters: The conflict is draining weapons stockpiles far faster than American factories can replace them, leaving the Pentagon and its allies scrambling to ramp up production and find cheaper alternatives.

The report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies finds the U.S. used so many interceptors from missile defense systems like Patriot and THAAD in the Middle East that stockpiles won't be replenished until 2029.

And that's if the war doesn't resume.

The math is stark: The U.S. took delivery of just 172 Patriot interceptors in fiscal year 2026 and has used more than 1,000 in the Iran war, according to CSIS.

I was in a defense contractor plant in Canada last week and they have some massive contract from the US Government to make 155mm and 120mm artillery shells.  They are only at 75% capacity and will be making them for years.

Part of a possible deal includes a $300 billion investment fund for Iran.  Witkoff and Kushner pitching it as a "real estate investment deal" according to the New York Times.

Between the cost to the taxpayers and loss of international prestige, it's refreshing to see some Americans might make bank off this fiasco.

From The AP:

Prices for tomatoes are up 40%, more than any other food product over the past year. Experts say the spike is the result of crop yields, the Iran war and Trump's tariffs. :

The war spiked gas prices and increased shipping costs. Meanwhile, the U.S. withdrew from a deal allowing duty-free imports of tomatoes from Mexico, which grows most of America's supply. Tomatoes were slapped with a 17% tariff.

As the cost trickles down, outraged consumers are voicing their displeasure online, but the impact has been most pronounced for businesses that rely on tomatoes as a key ingredient in their kitchens.

Wayne Humphrey, chief operating officer of Snarf's Sandwiches, which operates dozens of stores in Colorado, Missouri and Texas, says tomatoes will cost him an additional $1.7 million annually.

If a war truly as small as the Iran war is able to effectively majorly disrupt American defendes for YEARS to come, then the knowledge that their systems suck that much will be one of the very few good things to come out of this war.
