Being reported that India, France and Italy are negotiating directly with Iran to allow passage of their vessels through the Strait.

Interesting that those countries chose not to go through the US

Why could I see trump attempting to block these ships since they went to talk to Iran lol?

This war so far has made the US look like the bad guy, has strengthened China and Russia, contributed to the rapid and massive decline of support for Israel in the US and world-wide, and in some ways actually made Iran stronger, while making the entire rest of the Middle East suffer for having allowed US bases on their soil.

And now we are all but begging other countries to come help out, while repeatedly asking Iran for a ceasefire through back-channels and them saying no. Also, many anti-regime Iranians now think that the US and Israel are worse than the current Iranian regime.

Not so much winning going on right now.

Legitimizing the new Iranian leadership?  Time for tariffs.  Another price increase for the American citizen?  Big deal, who cares?

Oh, just the chair of the FCC threatening broadcasters who don't turn into propagandists for the administration.
I imagine this will go about as well for him as the Kimmel thing.

And there are still some people that haven't realized, or won't acknowledge, that we have a fascist government

I often think it's weird when people cry about 'oh, it cost more at the pump!'.. and they are literally just talking about filling up their own car. Nickel and dime sh1t. So odd; if someone DOGE'd their a$$, they could save a ton of money all over the place.

ppl r dum.

I may be misunderstanding this post, but it seems to completely miss the point. Energy prices going up substantially has an immense impact on the cost of everything, not just filling up their car. Most people understand this, with gas prices being a sign of larger energy related crises.

But on top of that though, this is impacting supply chains, which the last time that we had a simultaneous supply chain and energy crisis, inflation hit 9%.

This is why people are concerned.

This is worth a listen.

The fact that so many of them thought he was a war hawk suggests either they weren't smart enough to understand the video, or didn't even try to.

The focus on the decline in American power at the end was so important, and I don't think a lot of people understand the cumulative effects of everything being done right now, and it is not good for us.

At what point does a China go to the gulf nations (sans Israel) and say that they don't care about wars or want wars. They want peace and prosperity and that if they kick the US out of the bases, China will provide regional security guarantees with the only goal towards mutual development and peace.

I think there are multiple reasons China is largely staying out of this and a big one is they think they can have enhanced political control over the entire Middle East by the end of this.

I personally liked the comments suggesting this war was part of the administration's attack on the global elite.  We could literally cut a check for a billions of dollars to the world's richest people and we'd have redneck mouth breathers believing it's part of a plan to take down the cabal that keeps them poor.

In 14 months, we've done as much as possible to strengthen China's place in the world.  China doesn't have to rattle any sabers.  They just have to let our country continue to sabotage itself.

They Were Promised Regime Change. Now Many Iranians Feel Betrayed.

https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/they-were-promised-regime-change-now-many-iranians-feel-betrayed-96302a4d?

At the start of the war on Iran, Israel and the U.S. said they were paving the way for Iranians to rise up and topple their government. Many Iranians cheered on the offensive as a last resort to overthrow rulers who killed thousands of protesters in January.

Now, they are grappling with the possibility that the war will end with them living under the same authoritarian rule and crushing international sanctions, but in devastated cities with an aggrieved government that has vowed to take an even harder line against dissent.

One Tehran-based civil-society activist and former political prisoner said Iranians were truly hopeful two weeks ago as the war began. Now, the person said, they feel betrayed. An English-language teacher living in Tehran who is opposed to the government but also the war was more blunt. "We were f—ed over," the teacher said, saying they were turned into an excuse to launch a devastating war. "It's like we have gone back a hundred years in time."

The disappointment was triggered by a U-turn by Israeli and U.S. officials, who now are suggesting the time isn't ripe for regime change.
