Now why would they do that?

Top Pentagon officials are holding off releasing a report about a strike on an Iranian school until after the upcoming midterm elections, according to a new report.

That is how much is in the SPR currently.

Cut 17m barrels off that and we are down to 255m.  He's desperately trying to float the price until after the elections.  Desperation buying from Russia (L), trying to force a freeze on the energy war being waged in Ukraine and Russia (L), and Hormuz is still getting blocked (L), China buying at well above market rates for a month (L), as well as shutting off exports (L), and BAM straight aint looking too great either (L).

He is pulling every single lever to try to bring gas and diesel prices down, but he is all out of levers except for stopping US exports... and if he tries that... the oil robber barons of the US will revolt.

Once again, if I were China, I'd be looking at the the US weapons stock pile, their quagmire in Iran, and the global fuel shortage...

1. I thought buying Russian oil was bad? Hasn't that been our national policy and stance for years? Going so far as to punish other countries who try?

2. Isn't the amount of purchased Russian oil not enough to impact market price?

3. Isn't purchasing Russia oil technically illegal?

4. Why doesn't anyone care about the overall situation? Why isn't Congress doing anything about our country approaching the cliff? Why isn't anyone doing the "right" thing and stepping on the brake pedal of this out of control car?

OT - why does 1 person control a intelligence apparatus as powerful as starlink/starshield?

Katie had such promise.

Yet she was thrown aside after just 0.45 Scaramucci's.

Scaramucci took it in stride - "Records are made to be broken."

Zachariah made it 0.23 Jameel McKay's.

Too bad she couldn't have lasted until tomorrow, which is the 13th anniversary of McKay's departure.

Once again, if I were China, I'd be looking at the the US weapons stock pile, their quagmire in Iran, and the global fuel shortage...

Back in May I was at a trade show in Mexico City.  My German colleague and I had a business meeting with an Italian longtime acquaintance of hers.  Near the end of our conversation, no surprise the Italian became a little animated and stated "if I were the Chinese, I'd invade Taiwan right now.  The Americans are a mess and who would stop them."  There were Chinese nationals sitting at the table next to us and they had no idea what to stay.  One of them just said "you should come to China" and the Italian said "OK let's go right now, I've been there, there are lots of nice places."  And he descalated.

It's treason.

The only thing still unresolved is whether Trump's actions are due to A) Kompromat or B) greed.

Most likely A + B

The Senate passed those sanctions on Russia in an 86-11 vote. It's hard to get 86 senators to agree what day of the week it is, but they overwhelmingly agreed that Putin needed to be sanctioned.

And here comes Putin's puppet - desperate for the tiniest smidge of fuel-price relief with the midterms approaching after he drove up costs with his unnecessary and horribly executed Iran war - handing his puppetmaster billions of dollars in sanctions relief.

Policy based on whims, and always with personal gains in mind. There's never been any politician more corrupt and self-serving than Captain Bone Spur.

Also, he is finally realizing the impact all of this nonsense is causing on the global economy.

He doesn't want to pull out of Iran because he'd look like a 'loser' (he is), so he is going for the next best thing... an end to a war.

It's really that simple.  I'm sure either way, anything that is bad won't be his fault.

JD Vance was confronted by a grieving husband who said "fundamental failures" in President Donald Trump's war on Iran were responsible for his wife's death.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/vance-blindsided-by-grieving-military-husband-at-town-hall/ar-AA2euzIC?ocid=nl_article_link

Sgt. First Class Nicole Amor, 39, was among the first U.S. service members killed in the war, dying in an Iranian drone strike on March 13 at Port Shuaiba, Kuwait. Five other service members were killed in the attack.

During a town hall with the vice president, her husband, Joey Amor, referenced a CBS News report detailing military leadership's rejection of plans to relocate troops to safer positions despite intelligence warnings of a potential attack. CBS News also reported that the U.S. military ignored requests from troops in Kuwait to increase medical personnel and supplies, and failed to develop a mass casualty plan or a functional warning system.

"Though the Iranian drone was the weapon that killed my wife, there were a lot of mistakes and a lot of fundamental failures that led up to that," Joey told Vance during the town hall, which aired on CBS on Saturday.

"My wife has told me things before she passed. There are other soldiers that know things that are being quiet about certain aspects of this," he continued, calling his wife's death a "failure of leadership."

"I want to know how this administration is going to start holding those leaders accountable for the actions and the deaths of the soldiers that we that we honor and that we love," Joey said.

In response, the vice president called Nicole a "precious human who served her country honorably," and told Joey the country owed his family gratitude.

Then, regarding the reported failures of U.S. military leadership, Vance appeared baffled.

"When you talk about failures that were, that we were implicated in.....this literally [is] the first time I've heard of this," Vance said. Then, the vice president appeared to reference one of the oversight failures that reportedly contributed to Nicole's death.

"Now, it may be that some of the things that you're talking about are things where our tactics have already improved," Vance said. "There were issues with where troops were located that we realized were a huge mistake and that we could do better on, and we have changed that." A spokesperson for the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
