The mouth breathers in his base will believe anything he says but Americans with common sense know the commander-in-chief lies to them on a daily basis but he's already broken all of his campaign promises, so not a surprise.

Exxon sounds alarm on 'unheard of' oil problem
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/exxon-sounds-alarm-on-unheard-of-oil-problem/ar-AA24wcN4?

"Pump prices have climbed, but the futures market has acted as if the supply shock is mostly in the rearview mirror. For months, government stockpiles and emergency reserve releases have quietly papered over just how tight the physical market has become.

"We're approaching unheard of inventory levels," [Exxon CEO] Chapman said, according to CNBC. He argued that storage tanks have been hiding a hole in supply that cannot stay hidden much longer.

Roughly 11 million to 12 million barrels a day have been pulled out of a market that runs near 100 million barrels a day.

"Normally, you'd see prices go through the roof," Chapman said, according to the Houston Chronicle. Once stockpiles bottom out, he said, physical Brent crude could spike to between $150 and $160 a barrel before high prices choke off enough demand to pull the market back into balance, CNBC reported."

Art O' the Deal!

"President Donald Trump on Monday shrugged off the possible collapse of peace negotiations with Iran, telling CNBC, "I don't care if they're over, honestly."

"I really don't care. I couldn't care less," Trump told CNBC's Eamon Javers in a phone interview midday Monday.

"If they're over, they're over. If they're not, you know, I think they took too much time. Frankly, I thought they started to get very boring," Trump told CNBC."

That should be reassuring to the friends and families of the dead soldiers.  At least they can count on standing ovations at stadiums.

Billions of dollars spent, billions of dollars being spent by American taxpayers because of costs associated with the war.

LOL

From the NY Times:
"Back in March, Mr. Trump confidently predicted the conflict would be over in a few weeks, saying it was not possible to suffer from boredom while facing off against a longtime American adversary: "Somebody said today, they said, 'oh, well, the president wants to do it really quickly. After that, he'll get bored.' "

"There's nothing boring about this," he added."

From the NYT:

Plenty of people in Washington suspected that Iran would assert control over the Strait of Hormuz should the United States attack. War games conducted in the Pentagon over the years came to that conclusion. "Every single time, the first thing we focused on was the strait — without exception," a national security official in the Obama White House told the Times. "We assumed that if you go to war with Iran, this was their counterpoint."

Trump did not make that assumption, it seems. The White House has not disclosed its initial plans for the war, but the Times discovered some possibilities:

++Trump may have thought that overwhelming American firepower would topple Iran's government so quickly that it wouldn't have the time nor the ability to take the strait.

++Some in the administration doubted that Iran would close a waterway on which its own oil exports depended. Others believed, incorrectly, that allies would help the United States regain control of the strait if Iran took it.

++And several former U.S. officials said Pentagon planners, long focused on the threat of Iranian sea mines, may have overlooked the implications of Tehran's relatively new arsenal of cheap attack drones, which have menaced shipping in the strait.

And so ... within days of the war's start, Iran's military took control of the strait. Energy prices soared, and Trump found himself in a jam. Three months later, Iran's control of the strait has become its most powerful weapon, a source of huge leverage in negotiations with Trump over the country's nuclear program.

The Sultan

It is very obvious that he listened a great deal to Netenyahu and his own yes men and ignored the realities on the ground. There was not a chance that this was going to cause "regime change."

The last point has been an eternal problem of the American military. Yeah its very large, but it relies a lot of very expensive technology when oftentimes it's the cheap stuff that causes the most chaos. That's what we saw with IEDs back in Iraq and Afghanistan, and what we are seeing with the drones now.

Americans can't figure out that enemies don't need to overpower our military. They just need to do enough damage, and cause enough chaos to make us unwilling to fight any longer. We treat every conflict like it will have some sort of WWII like outcome, without learning from Vietnam, Iraq and now Iran.

And now we are stuck. Either we capitulate, ramp up the fighting, or continue with the status quo. The status quo certainly isn't harming Iran's leaders right now.

And the dunce has painted himself into such a corner, because he is a dunce, that he can't even declare victory and go home.

Once his "plan" for Venezuela 2.0 crumbled in the first weekend, they tried to come up with a rationale for the war that the public would accept, and the only one that had a remote chance was "Nuclear" (despite both having caused "Nuclear" in the first place by tearing up Obama's agreement and having claimed "Nuclear" was obliterated previously). So now he can't get out of it without some progress on "Nuclear". If they had just made it about destroying Iran's military, he could have claimed Mission Accomplished, despite the bizarre statement he made to Lara that they "had left the military alone".

The best option, pathetically, is to give Iran a better deal than the previous agreement, then declare it the greatest ever while tucking tail. Fox viewers and his 25% base are dumb enough to buy it.

The House on Wednesday voted to direct President Trump to withdraw U.S. forces from the conflict with Iran or win approval from Congress to continue the war, after four Republicans sided with Democrats in a striking sign of growing opposition to a military campaign now in its fourth month.

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2026/06/03/us/trump-administration-news#section-599172293

Adoption of the resolution was a remarkable rebuke to Mr. Trump and his handling of the conflict, after he has repeatedly dismissed any effort by Congress to curb his power and as the G.O.P. has largely ceded its prerogatives to do so, deferring to him time and again. Republicans had abruptly postponed the vote two weeks ago, recognizing that they did not have sufficient votes to defeat the measure and wanting to spare themselves and the president the affront.

But they made no headway over the ensuing days in winning converts, as the conflict has dragged on and Mr. Trump has made little progress toward ending it. G.O.P. leaders were unable to delay the vote any longer because Democrats had invoked the War Powers Resolution, which requires consideration of such measures within a limited period of time.

The move was also the latest reflection of divisions between Republicans in Congress and the president on a range of issues as their interests diverge in the run-up to the midterm congressional elections. It came after Senate Republicans have in recent days forced Mr. Trump to abandon his request for $1 billion in security funding for his ballroom project and a plan that the Justice Department announced to create a federal fund to pay claimants who accuse the government of having victimized them.

The vote was 215 to 208 to adopt the war powers resolution, sending it to the Senate. Even if it were to pass both chambers, the ability of lawmakers to force a president to withdraw troops remains a contested legal question, and Mr. Trump and his senior aides have dismissed any effort by Congress to limit his war powers as unconstitutional.

forgetful

I wouldn't be shocked to see a false flag attack on US interests in the Middle East, which would then be used to get authorization to reinitiate a war, if need be.

I don't think so. They want this to be over. They would roll back the clock and never go down this road if they could.
