This team misses Mitchell.  A lot.  Who are your 5 best perimeter defenders in the history of MU hoops?  Ty.  It drives me crazy we cant stop the ball.

GoldenEagles03

Wade was DPOY in CUSA so he has to be 1.

I meant 1 of the 5, not necessarily 1 overall just to be clear.

He's gotta be on there.

I graduated in "04 and saw every Wade game.  He may be top 5, but it took him some time.  He also had to conserve some energy as our #1 weapon on the offensive end.

Dominic certainly has to be considered.

I would think Jae has to be there.

GoldenEagles03

Defense is what got Jimmy to the NBA, his offense is what kept him around this long, but I'd say he's gotta be up there.

So versatile.

Four top 36 Kenpom teams and three more in the top 80. The bottom of the conference was always bad but the top was good. Lots of quality.

And Wade would have translated to any conference.

Never forget why, his crappy 1:1 D let Quincy pondexter hit the go ahead iso in the 2010 tournament completing the most WTF collapse I've seen us have in a tournament.

He gave an interview in 2010 saying he felt he let Acker, Cubi, and Zar down by that and worked on his D all summer

More than made up for it the next year by containing Tu Holloway.

Butch Lee was an outstanding defender. Quickest hands on the planet.
Marcus Washington, when his knee wasn't flaring up, was an excellent defender.
Mandy Johnson, Dominic James, West Matthews, Jerel McNeal, Michael Wilson, Dean Meminger.

Zog from Margo

Mandy was great unless he was guarding David Rivers. I thought Michael Wilson was a better defender. I actually thought Wes and Dominic were better defenders than McNeal. I have not seen many players as effective as James at staying in front of someone full court. Wes could cover a lot of positions—almost like OMax. McNeal was great in the passing lanes. Tony Miller was a very good defender even though not nearly as athletic as some mentioned. Mitchell was awfully good too. Too hard for me to choose. MU has been blessed with lots of great players.

Nice. Very nice.

I remember one time in particular (Rowsey was so famous for his defensive efforts, it's hard to pick just one) that Rowsey screwed up and a scooper asked something along the lines of "OK. which scooper forgot to get a check to Rowsey?". Chick piped in and said it was her, adding something like "I put it in his defensive notebook".
