I moved out of Minneapolis a few years ago, but am in a suburb. 15 miles from my door to Target Center. My nearest restaurant -- a Mexican joint -- they shut down a couple of weeks ago and have not re-opened. Great people, and that sucks.

Even my McDonald's.. about 1.1 miles away.. they have stopped curbside and inside service. It's strictly drive-thru. And this is in the 'burbs.

These are not fun times.

Who do you think runs those places?

Well, to be fair, they would need to scan the Zebras face into their phones to run it through a national database just to make sure.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Mexican immigrant was taken to a Minneapolis hospital earlier this month after bones in his face and skull were broken while he was in federal custody.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents initially claimed Alberto Castañeda Mondragón had tried to flee while handcuffed and "purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall," according to court documents filed by a lawyer seeking his release.

But staff members at Hennepin County Medical Center determined that could not possibly account for the fractures and bleeding throughout the man's 31-year-old's brain, said three nurses familiar with the case.

"It was laughable, if there was something to laugh about," said one of the nurses, who spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss patient care. "There was no way this person ran headfirst into a wall."

QuoteThe woman, who did not want to be identified because she fears for her safety, is a U.S. citizen and a resident of St. Peter. She told MPR News in an interview that she was out in the community in her car, tracking the movements of federal agents, and recording them on a dash cam.

Bovino Is Said to Have Mocked Prosecutor's Jewish Faith on Call With Lawyers

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/31/us/bovino-jewish-prosecutor-minnesota.html?

A day before six career federal prosecutors resigned in protest over the Justice Department's handling of the killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis, lawyers in the office had a conversation with Gregory Bovino, the Border Patrol field leader, that left them deeply unsettled.

According to several people with knowledge of the telephone conversation, which took place on Jan. 12, Mr. Bovino made derisive remarks about the faith of the U.S. attorney in Minnesota, Daniel N. Rosen. Mr. Rosen is an Orthodox Jew and observes Shabbat, a period of rest between Friday and Saturday nights that often includes refraining from using electronic devices.

Mr. Bovino, who has been the face of the Trump administration's immigration crackdown, used the term "chosen people" in a mocking way, according to the people with knowledge of the call. He also asked, sarcastically, whether Mr. Rosen understood that Orthodox Jewish criminals don't take weekends off, the people said.

It doesn't sound like things have improved with the changing of the guard (not unsurprising)

Do you honestly not understand it? They are going around detaining people simply because they don't look American (non-white), or have an accent, with no other reason to suspect any wrong doing.

They are then taken away to detention centers, sometimes in completely different states, interrogated, and mistreated.

Citizens, legal immigrants and others are afraid to go out and go to work, run their business, or go to school, because they can be detained just for the way they look.

That's why businesses by you are a mess. Because terror, and fear is the goal. Even my right-wing friends admit that, it isn't about the rule of law it is to create fear so immigrants are afraid to even come here.

Eh, who cares if U.S. citizens, including veterans and teenagers, are being hauled away, detained and denied due process? They had it coming!

You ask questions, but apparently answering questions is beneath you. Are you "honestly" incapable of answering, or incapable of doing so? I'm trying to come up with something akin to TACO for threatening tariffs and other threats and then chickening out to describe your M.O. Perhaps another scooper could help out here.

Forgetful answered your questions but did not provide answers that are acceptable to you because they do not support your "thought" process. Suggestion: stop drinking the damn Kool-Aide.

From Axios e-newsletter:

A federal judge in Texas ordered the release of a 5-year-old Minnesota boy from ICE custody. The scathing opinion blasted "ill-conceived and incompetently implemented government pursuit of daily deportation quotas, apparently even if it requires traumatizing children." He captioned a photo of the boy with two Bible verses, including "Jesus wept."

Oh...my....Gawd!

Edit: Too late. Father and son are back in Minneapolis. Maybe Jay Bee can atone for his sins and drive them to the Canadian border so they can seek asylum. Otherwise, the DOJ will waste no time in getting them back.

Rocky will probably shut scoop down again in solidarity.

Had that guy been arrested for burglary or some other crime the child would be detained with him until he could be handed over to care  it is hyperbole to describe the child in jail  were i to look i'm sure i would find similar outrage when Obama locked up illegals
