I just want to say that I'm inspired and impressed by the people of the Twin Cities who are not willing to be intimidated by an out-of-control, authoritarian regime.

As we unfortunately have seen, these courageous patriots are literally putting their lives on the line in an effort to preserve basic human rights, decency, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in their little corner of our constitutional republic.

Quote from: Jay Bee on Today at 02:57:18 PMProtestors tried to get cute out here in the suburbs last night.. apparently they believed Bovino was staying at a hotel a half mile from me, so they caused a ruckus outside.. the police arrested several weirdos.

I was going to order pick-up from a restaurant across the street last night when this was going on.. glad I didn't. I lived through riots in Minneapolis while living downtown.. not fun. Apparently some property damage here last night, but nothing too crazy as the police shut sh1t down.

Having lived through the riots and destruction in Portland (I could hear gunshots and see smoke from my living room), there are lines I draw when it comes to protesting. If the protesters were simply outside of the hotel, I don't see an issue, but if they tried to get inside (private property), involved in property damage, or were harassing and threatening guests and staff, then, IMO, they are fair game for arrest...without violence.

That the local police force was involved last night, not ICE, is likely why there were no beatings, shootings, or deaths of any protesters.

I remember the protests in April of 2020 at the Michigan state Capitol.  When it was OK for angry protesters to enter the Capitol building and parade around the grounds with their semi-automatic weapons.  I imagine that some of them got a haircut, took a shower, and joined ICE.

Compare and contrast.

A fun Google.  2020 Michigan Capitol protest.

I think Ryan Poles deserves all the criticism he gets for the Bears contributions to WW2

Probably just thought they were dropping a detainee off at a prison. Innocent mistake, I'm sure...
