Turns out our government actually killed someone here legally.  Suppose I'm virtue signaling when I say this should result in jail time.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — For nearly a year, immigration authorities have detained and sought to deport a mentally ill man whose mother, lawyers and public records say was born in the United States and not Jamaica as he claims, a review by The Associated Press found.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has no authority to detain U.S. citizens, but has long done so, usually for hours or days, when officers mistake identities or can't immediately verify citizenship. Immigration lawyers say a nearly 10-month improper detention would be rare but not unprecedented.

The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, disputes that the man is a U.S. citizen and alleges, without providing evidence, that the birth certificate he submitted to obtain a U.S. passport that he held for 15 years was fraudulent. But AP's review found documents that support claims by his mother and legal team that he was born in Florida and therefore not subject to ICE's authority.

Only the "worst of the worst." It will be so good for America when our brave ICE heroes get rid of such a dangerous and evil criminal.

I thought we didn't want asylum seekers? Or criminals? Or non-whites?

Far right candidate who lost his election is also being heavily investigated into multiple crimes while his father is in prison because he tried an insurrection against his country. The candidate was snuck out of Brazil - without a passport - by a far right Argentinian admin, to then travel to the US where he and his family will receive visas.

The CIA is not what they once were.

Bolonsaro has landed in Miami after leaving Argentina.  We are the new home for wayward Nazi's.  Beats turning into the Khmer Rouge, I guess.

Der Fuhrer has his masked Gestapo agents executing U.S. citizens in cold blood, detaining American veterans and kids, handcuffing disabled people outside of churches, and deporting hard-working folks who have been contributing to their communities for decades.

But at least der Fuhrer is welcoming with open arms a dictator-wannabe criminal.

And for good reason: Flavio always has nice things to say about America's dictator-wannabe criminal.

Finally, some good news from the WSJ, as a Gestapo agent was indicted after (allegedly) hitting a man with a vehicle ...

A grand jury charged Mario Alberto Morales with the second-degree offense of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to local authorities in Texas. Video footage played during a press conference appeared to show Morales' vehicle pursuing a running Miguel Parra Hernandez and striking him from behind. An ICE spokesperson said allegations that the officer intentionally struck Parra Hernandez were reckless and false.

Elections have consequences, even for the Gestapo ...

The stunning wave of Republican defeats is already having an effect in Texas.

Mayor John Whitmire of Houston said he was directing city police officers on Friday to limit their cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement during traffic stops, bucking a policy imposed on Texas's largest city by Gov. Greg Abbott.

Under an executive order from the mayor, Houston police officers will no longer alert ICE agents when they encounter an unauthorized migrant during routine traffic stops or in connection with other low level infractions.

Instead, officers will only alert ICE in cases where a person has been arrested and is being brought to, or has already arrived at, a county jail.

"If they're charged with a new crime, we'll let ICE know as we get them to the jailhouse," Mr. Whitmire said in an interview with The New York Times. "We just are not going to deal with the nonviolent contacts."

The change in how Houston officers interact with immigration agents was a direct result of Tuesday's election, Mr. Whitmire said. Mr. Abbott lost his bid for re-election to what would have been a record fourth term as governor.

"The governor was requiring us to contact ICE," Mr. Whitmire said. "It created a lot of anxiety" among Houston residents.

He added that the shift was "certainly consistent with the new leadership in Austin," referring to the slate of Democrats elected to every major statewide position in Texas on Tuesday.

"We won't have new leadership until January," Mr. Whitmire said. "But I'm willing to make a responsible decision that in the next two months we're going to go to a more effective policy."

Good.  These politicians need to be on our side when we send people to the re-education camps next year.

Other fun election notes from around the country:

Dem Iowa state senate winner won his race despite dropping out over a month ago due to health concerns.  Apparently the Iowa Dem party chair called him the morning after the election and said, "uh, dude you won."

Dem Arizona college student (19 years old) won his election for clerk of the superior court of Maricopa County.  Looks like if you had a D in front your name anywhere near Maricpa county, you won.

Cooper (NC), Ossoff (GA), and Talarico (TX) all won their senate races before even one vote was cast on Election Day.  Each candidate had so many early and mail-in votes that had nobody voted for them on election day, they still would have won.

One more of note:

Democrat Kristina Knickerbocker defeated Republican Mike Turner to win Ohio's 10th congressional district.  Turner first won his seat in congress in 2002.  The significance.  The dems now represent the Haitian community that was much maligned by Republicans starting with the 2024 election cycle (their eating the dogs ...).  Looks like they're getting the last laugh.
