Quote from: Scoop Snoop on January 22, 2026, 09:20:57 AMYou have 2 guys from the Al Era, so I'm going with you, not that young punk Galway.

Haha It was just a golden eagles roster! Didn't want to offend the sensibilities of any warriors on here
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Tough to narrow list to five but any list has to consider Maurice Lucas. The guy defined the PF position.

Bench:

Jerel (G)
DJO (G)

would you consider players that were both Warriors and Golden Eagles? If so, I would add Tony Miller and Amal.

Hmm probably. Not sure who I'd cut though. Would need to default to the expertise of someone who was there.

I would replace DJO with Miller.

Also, since 12 used to be the usual roster size, you could go with that.

I keep thinking Hutch needs to be on there somewhere, too.

Hopefully in July will know if the program is going to compete in today's college sports environment and either celebrating or complaining about the direction of the program.

Bunch of old boomers in here thinking Crowder and kolek wouldn't cook some dudes from the 70s lol

I'll go with 12, I think DJO is underrated and people forget how great he was playing next to Jae his senior year, Jimmy & Jae junior year, and Lazar & Jimmy his freshman year. But he was the leading scorer in 2011 & 2012 and was an immediate key piece of the 2010 team to ease the pressure from lazar.

This is a good question.  When would the decline of the player skill levels occur? 10 years ago? 20 years ago? 30 years ago?  40 years ago?   I would love to see a 1970s Butch Lee and Maurice Lucas versus Crowder and Kolek.

PG: Kolek
SG: Wade
SF: Crowder
PF: Novak
C: Chones

Kolek shot 38% and 39% from 3 his final 2 years here and 3s play in the modern game. Novak is a lights out shooter around the playmaking Wade. Crowder can shoot and is sort of interchangable with Novak at the 3/4. Chones a double-double machine as a rim presence on both sides of the floor. Shooting, defense, athleticism, passing.

I also don't think those are the best 5, just a group of 5 I'd love to see play together.

Butch Lee was the leading scorer for the only NCAA championship team in school history and national Player of the Year, but some here think he's not good enough to be on Marquette's all-time team because he's the choice of "old folks."

And what many may not realize is those were in separate seasons. He was MOP of the Final Four and 2nd Team All-American in 1977 and NPOY and 1st team All-American in 1978.

Probably somewhere in the 90s. There became a huge swing in trainings and practices. Plus the shear athletism of players now.
