THIS is the radio partner of Marquette basketball? FFS. One of these is right. The others, no chance.

I would submit:

PG Butch Lee
SG Dwyane Wade (Hey they got one right)
SF George Thompson
PF Bo Ellis
C Jim Chones

After that, you can argue Jae with guys like Meminger, Lucas, Kojis, Howard, and others for sixth man or second team.

After seeing Butch Lee nearly taking down the USA Olympic team single handedly playing for Puerto Rico and being the leader of the NCAA Championship team, I think he deserves to be on there.  A backcourt of Wade and Lee would be unstoppable.

Farming the outrage, and it worked.  Sounds like they know their audience is older white dudes.

That would correct if white people could read and use a computer.

Jae and Jimmy being off is ridiculous.

Someone's going to come in and say Howard though.

TedBaxter

I think one of the interesting things about George Thompson, Butch Lee and Jerome Whitehead is that all 3 entered college at 17 years old.

George Thompson didn't turn 18 years old until November 29th of his freshman year at Marquette.  Butch Lee was still 2 days away from his 18th birthday when he played against St. John's (MN) as a 17 year old on December 3, 1974.  Whitehead turned 18 on September 30 of his freshman year at Riverside (CA) Community College.  3 of McGuire's most physical players finished their college careers as 21 year olds.

Jimmy doesn't belong. People vastly overrate him in the lores of MUBB
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Wade is obvious

Jae at least has an argument to be on the team. Jimmy Mac seems like they just wanted to select the best/most renown player from the 90s.

Love Dom but seriously?

Markus & Kolek both have arguments to be on the team whether or not starting 5 is probably a no.

He's on the Marquette in the NBA Mount Rushmore, but his college career wasn't nearly as decorated as his pro career.

Yeah absolutely though our nba Mount Rushmore isn't a who's who of HoF players or even all stars

Older white dude here - how can anyone argue that Butch Lee doesn't belong? He lead the Warriors to the 77 championship and was National Player of the year in 78. Remember that this is what they did at MU not in the pros (see Jimmy Butler).

Slow news day. Dumb list ...

James ? good player... but he's behind at least the following guards:

Butch Lee, McNeal, Howard, Kolek and even Kam, amount others.

BE_GoldenEagle

I went

PG: Kolek
SG: Wade
SF: Crowder
PF: Novak
C: Chones

Kolek shot 38% and 39% from 3 his final 2 years here and 3s play in the modern game. Novak is a lights out shooter around the playmaking Wade. Crowder can shoot and is sort of interchangable with Novak at the 3/4. Chones a double-double machine as a rim presence on both sides of the floor. Shooting, defense, athleticism, passing.

I also don't think those are the best 5, just a group of 5 I'd love to see play together.

a list created by a bunch of Gen Z sports fans who barely acknowledge anything that happened pre 2010. The only reason Mac got included is probably that he was our color analyst for many years; they would have voted Devonte at MU's greatest all-time center.

Kind of a win Homer didn't pick Novak and 4 other white dudes

Fwiw I'm a millennial and was at MU 09-14. If it was Gen Z they're voting for Theo or Luke Fischer or Oso.
