Quote from: Galway Eagle on January 25, 2026, 05:43:59 PMOk first off if we're going to say Kolek was an all American it's only fair to say the same regarding Crowder. As far as the two seasons argument Wade and Chones might like a word. In terms of his first season, he averaged 12 & 7 being the third look on the team. I'm not saying that otherworldly but 99% of the time we're taking that in a heart beat.

For my general thought process:

we've had 32 all Americans, if you're in that group you warrant a look

26 that were above honorable mention to me if you among those you now definitely warrant a look.

19 were able to lead their teams to the tournament. To me that leaves the selection between the below 19

Rand, Kojis, Thompson, Meminger, Chones, Lucas, Ellis, Tatum, Walton, Lee, Whitehead, Toone, Worthen, Rivers, Wade, McNeal, Crowder, Howard, Kolek

We've had all of 5 conference POYs in our esteemed history, to me if you're one of those 5 you warrant a look and 4 are on that list of 19. I'm too young to rank everyone but I think crowder would be above the middle of the pack there.

As far as whether crowder would make top 10 all time that's tough as I don't know the old guys well enough but Id say he's closer than you're giving him credit for

I honestly didn't remember Crowder being an All-American, so thanks for pointing that out.

Chones, Wade and Lucas were dominant players in each of their two seasons at Marquette, though I could see Chones getting an asterisk for not finishing his second year.
