Quote from: MUbiz on January 16, 2026, 09:43:21 PMA 4 minute timeout and Shaka drew that up? Fire him now. This is incompetence.

Eh Parham lost the ball.  Good defense.  And James hoisted up a prayer for no reason.    Nonetheless we need players who could play.  Rebound. Hit free throws.

BCHoopster

Caedin is so bad, why not just play Clark, where was Phillips tonight, play small ball.

Billy Hoyle

I would be relieved if it turned out we were point shaving this season

Hamilton is so bad that Josh Clark looks like a competent basketball player

When you keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results..... eh... that's kinda crazy

The Hall and X home crowds were pretty weak attendance wise so there ya go. Probaly gonna be the lowest avg attendance in a long time. Tough to spend time and money to go watch this trash.

Man, their defense is so atrocious.  They don't do fundamental things.  Boxing out, not giving a hot shooter any daylight, the other teams just plain want the loose balls more. Just a really awful team.  Nearly halfway through conference now thankfully.

At least he did not $hit himself on the court.  That would complete his Marquette experience.....And hopefully conclude it.....

4 portal spots....

Tre...Sean....Hamlton....Lowery....

At least Lowery jumped from the Titanic.....

This is beyond painful.  This team is worse than my freshman year Dukiet team that went 10-18.

How would you like to have season tickets at the escalated prices....Also being a Marquette Gold member to sit in the lower bowl...you know that 5 to 10K investment.....LOL.....

You know the re-up is going to be way down....

And that is when the university starts applying the "pressure" and Shaka starts feeling the heat....

Relationships officially go out the window at that point when his multi-million dollar gig starts to melt.....

Offense was pretty good, 48% from field and 41% from three and yes free throws hurt them. 5 for 13, including two front end misses.

Defense, yuck.  Shaka did not adjust on Gunn going off in first half.  Maybe a box and one, face guard him to preventing him from getting the ball?  Gunn was not running off screens or anything.  Nope, nothing.

14-0 runs to start the half, not a good thing.  Ally oops and dunks to begin half was ugly. No defense and Deapul destroyed them on offensive boards.

Actually watched Hamilton close tonight.  The guy cannot hold onto a basketball. As of now, he is your starting center next year.  Ouch. Gold was hurting and after he went 2 for 3, sat back down.  That hurt.

Very bad loss.

MuggsyB

Providence beat Creighton today and have been in every BEast game they've played.  I would say 4 wins is our ceiling but we have as good a chance of going 2-18.

They've been weak since before the Dayton game.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

It's pretty simple:

Half of the roster needs to depart to allow for more experienced, skilled and talented players to come in.  If coaching staff is unable or unwilling to accept that, it's time to make a change.

Being unwilling to accept that reality is malpractice on a coaching and administrative level.

manny31

Gross. So f'ing gross. IMO worse than anything I've ever seen. Dukiet teams sucked but they went from shyte to really shyte. Shaka saw the weather report(ice berg dead ahead) and decided to proceed and increased speed... What a waste...

Are you saying they have a two year contract?

BLWarrior91

Is it possible that Shaka let this happen in propose to get more money for players goo going forward?

If we bounce back next year with a competitive team we might see the brillance of this year...(trying to find a silver lining here)

CountryRoads

Phillips and Clark didn't have the look in their eye tonight.

No just dont think they want to leave. guessing dont want a big pay cut. Especially bcause people on here say pay scales with seniority at this program. The absurdity of of a horizon league player like Tre, who probably couldnt find a professional gig anywhere in the world, making 500k next year is hilarious.

Shaka.....just say this is on me.....And I have to re-evaluate my whole thoughts on how to run a program....

Own up.....

This is too funny.....

Shaka's after game press conference...
Shaka Credit DePaul for their aggressiveness in the second half. We made a run for them but did not rebound and get to loose balls. The way we played in the first half with aggressiveness. Second half we were not defense focused as much. We had 20 assists for the game. We got a lot of good looks in the second half that we did not hit. Our guys did a good job initally. They made adjustments. OIffense was not the problem. Rebounds and loose balls were the key to the game. Our defense waned in the second half before the offense did. Gunn put up the gaudy number but Blocker kept getting downhilll. NJ Benson went 8-9. A lot of offensive boards. We did not rebound as well as we should. NJ. Maybe he was rushing it or were not in the place we should be. He's a freshman He makes freshman mistakes. He is going to do great things as well. On the road you have to hang your hat on defense and we need to do a better job. Gunn was in a rhythm from the beginning of the game. You have to make him drive. This was the best environment for DePaul since I have been there. Students were good. Thanks for Marquette fans that came down. Good atmosphere. we have to get more aggressive and need to get tougher. We need to get more 50-50 balls. I did not think we did a good job against a zone. They did the same thing last year and we won in OT. They doi a good job. Ben looked better. Hasn't been able to practice or play at SJU. Asided from the injury, he will be better next game. Good for him to see some threes going in.

Read my original prediction post....The first half....The Blah Blah Blah....The more BS....Gold was our "stroke" player....

Line for line.....

I did miss the give DePaul credit crap.....

If it wasn't so pathetic.....It is absolutely hysterical......
