Yep. Nigel, Royce, and Adrien is a great start. But Shaka is gonna need to bring in a couple (few?) legit impact transfers at the 5 and wing.

Add that to Michael, Sheek, Ian, Josh, Ethan, and Nash and I'm much more optimistic going into next season.

I think Shaka has really struggled at end-of-game situations this season but the first 39 minutes of the past few games has looked like the Shaka we know.

19-20 for spring sports, 20-21 for all others.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but if we can't figure out a way to do it then it's pretty much the death knell of MU hoops in this era of ball. Might as well go totally budget mid-major then.

The only positive?

Parham put up 17 and got to the line.  He's absolutely a piece for next season.  Outrebounded them.  Only turned the ball over 9 times.  After Nova's hot start the defense improved. 

None of this is worth getting upset over at this point and James wasn't the only positive.

We out rebounded them by 1 but ok.
Awesome rebounding effort. 🙄


Parham had 3 of our 9 turnovers and his rebounding and defending is sub par overall.

Nigel, as a freshmen, just took over this team as the guy and that is the main point to take out of this game.

Kudos to him and so sad at the same time.

If Shaka stays, I'm confident Nigel stays.

More accurately, if Nigel goes I don't see how Shaka can stay. With all the recruiting misses he's had, if he/we can't hang on to his one major success then RGV is well and truly dead in any shape or form.

True - but he won't get this team into the tourney - next year with the right pieces he could showcase on a team that people actually watch - that's what will get him to the association.

Taking from Caedin and Tre requires a total backpedal and I don't believe Shaka is capable. It should be very easy but I think he's far too attached.

I hope there's a way we can pull it off and keep the young guys.

Sean seems as good as gone next year. Caedin and Tre play less and less each game. I'm more bullish on Shaka's willingness to part with guys than I was a month or so ago.

I mean, it's absolute crazy to me if our rev share/NIL doesn't have SOME kind of performance angle - the $$ is there IF YOU GROW. If it truly is just a seniority scale that is insane and untenable.

Damn right he is. We're going to have to really pay up to keep him. I can see him getting $2 million (on top of rev share).

Parham has established himself as a solid #2 for the future, IMO.

I don't know, Parham is so soft at the rim.  Has potential.

Yeah, Royce has other parts of his game to work on but to not take away any positives from his performance is dumb.

Pretty simple for Tre for me. If he wants to be a 9th man and play the role he has the last two games, there's a spot for him here next year. He can be a decent depth piece. If he wants more minutes, he'll leave.

and probably 2 starters to make a real
team next year.  They have too much dead weight...

We battled today.  It does make you wonder how good we could have been if our returning players came back and played like most projected. 

I was very disappointed with our possessions down the stretch but it wasn't super surprising.  We have enough of a sample size with Chase isoing from the top.  It's not his game and it needs to be put to pasture.
