Well....MU82 needed a vacation anyway, so maybe it's just as well he said naughty words.

I'm pretty sure that Shaka learned all he wanted to from this board right after he was hired.

If Shaka looked at Scoop for even one second ... that's when I'd start saying he should be fired.

Yeah sure Mr. Potty Mouth. "What did I do?" You were a very bad boy.

Vander Blue Man Group

Quote from: onepost on Today at 02:31:08 PMMy only point in suggesting Ian alone pulling a redshirt is that I would like to get a sense of which underclassmen belong at Marquette.  Shaka has a habit of keeping guys in the program who have no business keeping a scholarship at this level for 2 and 3 years (Ellis, Amadou, Itejere, Norman, Hamilton).

We know Nigel, Adrien, and Royce (very discouraged by his lack of development, though) are core pieces going forward.  So the fact that we're gonna be playing for nothing meaningful, postseason-wise, the rest of this season I want to know if Damarius, Michael, Josh, and Ian are good enough to play at Marquette.  But we'll continue to trot out Caedin, Tre, Sean for extended minutes instead so it doesn't matter what I want.

And the idea remains ludicrous.  Ian is not ready.  That's why he is redshirting.

All you do by pulling the redshirt is piss away a year of eligibility and you'll have no better idea of what he can be as a sophomore or upperclassmen.

And look at the success he had! Seems logical to me.

Logical, huh? Says the guy who wants the redshirts pulled because he wants to know if the players are good enough to play for Marquette.  ;D  :o

I'm guessing Shaka gets a good understanding of where these guys are at in practice.

Although, maybe not based on comments in the preseason.

Again, what are we doing here. Yes, I'd like for the staff to more quickly assess if the players they recruited are any good at this level. As it stands, Shaka has truly only hit on one (1) player he recruited, borne out over multiple years - Chase Ross. So clearly he's having some issues identifying sustained talent at Marquette.

But hey, the model of having bad players stay in the program for years on end because of RGV is firing on all cylinders, you're right.

Not what you said. "I want to know..."

And you are still calling for burning redshirts to accomplish your goal.

Nice try at slipping your rewording through, but...didn't work.

Alright Sherlock Holmes. Yes, I'd like for the STAFF to know what they're working with sooner rather than later, and threw out the hypothetical of a single redshirt being pulled to speak to a larger point. I figured that was implied given 'us losers on the message board can't do anything', but I guess you quite literally have to spell out everything syllable to this crowd.
