Sean's not coming back and scoring 20ppg. Ive said this all of the past year.

Everyone remembers Sean with rose colored glasses, he was never THAT guy. He was a 5'8 defensive guy with speed. Now hes a 5'8 guy without speed.

If the staff determined Phillips was the more college ready and his shooting isn't getting him in, Miletic isn't dropping a redshirt to get into games. And Nash isn't even here yet.

If there are answers on this roster, it's from the guys we've already seen on the floor.

This. If Shaka can't even find a few minutes here or there for Phillips, who has beautiful shooting form and already has swished several 3s in garbage/limited time, then obviously Miletic isn't ready.

At this point, I'd give Phillips the few minutes now going to Owens. He can't be much worse defensively, and he at least has a chance to bust a zone.

I think all of the redshirts make sense individually. Just a bit unsettling to me to have 3 of them on a team that is not exactly trending upwards to say the least. Could have been more valuable to add a player on this team that could help on the court and just having 2 of those guys join next year. The jury is still out on how much value there really is on getting guys here a year early.

Yeah, I absolutely could be wrong, though the sample size isn't enough to really say. Shaka only gave Owens 3 minutes last night, so it's not as if the coach is bursting with confidence about D.O.'s ability to contribute on either end of the court.

To be clear, I'd love to find a way to get MP some minutes, but the defense is just so rough. I think this year it's either (a) a foul or (b) blow by waiting to happen... maybe there's a way to hide him, in a zone or something, but it's rough going right now. I think in a year or two he can be fine and I want the shooting.. but the cost on the other side of the ball is too high right now.

One could dream that his long range sniping will look so good that Shaka will need him to play right away. But, the stuff of dreams.........

Shaka essentially used the two extra roster spots on Sheek and Nash.

And Sheek should still be a senior in HS. He's here to get a much needed year in the weight room.

Nash and Sheek will line up with their regular recruiting class, but with a bit of a head start.

Clearly this isn't good, no one is really happy with where things stand, but we haven't hit rock bottom. There is lower than this. Wojo's first year, Shaka's 11-22 season at Texas, the Piano Man, DePaul's last two decades, etc.
