Quote from: MuggsyB on November 19, 2025, 09:17:28 PMThis is an unusually bad passing team and we're wildly inconsistent shooting the ball.  That's not a good combination

Oh...and then there's our defense.  If Dayton didn't have 100 turns, this game would not have been competitive. We forced a bunch, but most were self-inflicted.  Our h-c offense is horrible and our h-c defense is horrible. The result of these probs?  A conplete dumpster 🔥

I get that, but this discussion here is not getting a shot off with 17 seconds, not a whole game review.  Again, I don't believe I have ever seen that.

I've seen it but usually they're going full-court.  Regardless, it's inexcusable.

I think I scared two kids a few rows in front of me screaming, "GET ON THE FLOOR!" when the ball rolled to Zaide's feet late in the game. A UD player dove across the floor to get it and Zaide didn't even bend over. Spontaneous reaction to a shockingly lazy play.

I'm coming to the conclusion Zaide is just plain soft.

I had the exact same thought and reaction watching at home. Ball was rolling at his feet and he either was completely unaware or didn't make any effort to get it.

Agree there was play very early at the start of the game too where Zaide did not get on the floor when Zaide could have easily had the ball if he did.
Also there was a bad pass by Tre earlier to Zaide. Where Zaide could have had the ball but tried to run before grabbing the ball and he dropped the ball and lost it. Ugh

Marquette did fight back but you have got to get a shot at the end of regulation obviously. It would be much easier for everyone to take if Marquette at least got a shot off. Ugh again. Am just going to pretend Chase took that shot and made that shot in the lane with 2 seconds left and Marquette won goodnight.

I still haven't heard from Shaka what he wanted there.  His post game radio interview he merely recapped what everyone saw and that he wished Chase would have taken the open look.

Agree last year thought Zaide was a bad ass but he might be a super kitten

Yes and then Shaka said he said Nigel should have probably taken the shot after Chase passed to him. But then Nigel passed to Ben who passed to Chase if not mistaken.

Watched that play several times now and I thought Dayton's coverage was actually pretty solid. I think our best bet was for Ross to just step into that 24 footer on the wing and either just shoot it or at least get the defender to commit to him which would have left Nigel wide open in the corner.

Teal? So we're saying Wojo type players, but without the skill side? 😬

Oh, it was great defense, no doubt, but if Chase is going to go that far, just take the shot.  If they block it, whatever.  If he misses, whatever.  But he could also get fouled, or it goes in, or there is a put back at the buzzer.

The absolute worst thing that could happen, did happen... well outside of Chase passing to a Flyer for a run out dunk.

Well Dayton does suck, we just suck worse.

I guess when the board vociferously complained about scheduling Dayton, they knew what they were talking about.

If you're able to rewatch that play, there was also another good option in the moment. A moment after Chase drives into the paint and stops, Zaide starts a backdoor cut that would've led to an easy layup or dunk. But unfortunately, Chase didn't see him and passed the ball the other way.

What a luxury we had with Kolek and then KJ.  Both could either do it themselves or they saw the floor so well find the open man.  That passing ability led to a ton of easy layups in crunch time.

Quote from: ATL MU Warrior on November 19, 2025, 09:13:04 PMYou know this was bad when Willie doesn't even bother to show up and gloat.
Except I am not gloating. I have always wanted MU to succeed. And there is no reason they can't succeed. But when you look at what is happening this year, it is obvious that there are big time issues. Put the blame for that where you want.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."
