Lots of coaches who actually want to win that take in transfers taking losses and being underdogs in our conference.

No. You are knowingly and repeatedly exaggerating the point.

Sure.  But multiple posters have brought up Creighton as the example that Shaka should be modeling his program after and/or wondering why Creighton can figure this era out while Marquette can't.

Who are these multiple posters?

Maybe if I have a couple hours to go through all the threads I'll find them for you, but you're honestly saying that you didn't read posts lamenting how Creighton can land big time transfers when Dix and Freeman committed there this summer when Marquette can't, questioning how Creighton is able to compete with Marquette in terms of NIL money, or saying that UCONN, SJU, and Creighton have separated themselves from the rest of the Big East and there's no reason we can't at least be Creighton?  Maybe if you were a relatively infrequent poster here who just stops by after games or once in a while, but I can't imagine you missed all of that.

You seem to have taken it very personally.  In the case of UConn & SJU, it appears true.  Creighton may or may not be significantly better than MU this year.

Oh, I've seen plenty of posts suggesting that MU should be able to compete financially with Creighton. I've probably said that. And I think that's true .... MU can compete in the transfer market with the majority of programs on its level, and chooses not to.
But you wrote that multiple posters want Shaka to model his program after Creighton, and I'm not sure that's true. I think almost nobody here wants see significant roster turnover every year. Some of us just want to see Shaka take advantage of all available avenues to improve the team, and it's clear he refuses to do that. He's getting lost in the fight ... with one arm tied behind his back.

The usual retort here is something along the lines of "he never said he won't ever take transfers." And while that may be true, actions speak louder than words. He had the makings of team that could have made a deep tourney run last year with a little more depth at the point and in the post, but he chose not to add that depth and wore his team into the ground. He went into this season with an obviously flawed team (my kingdom for a shooter!), but chose not to address those flaws. Maybe this year's struggles force him to change, but it's pretty clear he's shut the door on the portal as a tool.

The rest of the italicized remark was and/or wondering why Creighton can figure this era out while Marquette cannot.

I don't disagree with most of what you are saying.  Shaka went all in on recruit, retain, develop.  It worked for the first four seasons (and yes, 2 of his crown jewels were transfers he brought in in year one).  He thought it would work for year five.  He misread his roster.  I trust that the guy who has been a very good college basketball coach for a long time will continue to be one.  Will that be by bringing in transfers?  Maybe, maybe not.  Will it be by upping the talent of high school kids he recruits?  Maybe, maybe not.  But I believe that Shaka will figure this thing out.  Probably not as quickly as Scoopers want, but I trust he will.

Looking at the last two posts, I'd say lots of Scoopers (maybe even most?) agree with what both Pak and wades are saying. I know I do.
